It’s not often that you watch a creator/Emmy-nominated makeup artist and brow guru do their work right in front of you! This was the case when I met Eugenia Weston, founder of Senna Cosmetics, at The Makeup Show a few months ago. We had already been Twitter “friends”, so it was lovely to finally put a face to the tweets!
Yesterday, a wonderful package arrived with treats from their Emerald Isle and Bronzelite Collections. Eugenia herself had noted in one of my tweets that I wondered why Emerald was Pantone Color of the Year, as I saw so much cobalt blue around me. And then the package of Emerald Isle came to show me just how gorgeous the color Emerald could look on me, thanks to Senna Cosmetics!
The Emerald Isle look is one of fiery lips and emerald eyes with a warm skintone. The Glow Eye Color ($18.00) in Emerald added beauty to my brown eyes and brought out the touch of green within them.
The Lip Lacquer ($20) in Bonfire suited me oh-so-well, as all of you know I love rocking red lips. The Brilliant Bronze ($42.00) baked mineral bronzer and highlighter in Sunset actually gave me the appearance of cheekbones, and last, but not least, the Ultra Last Eyeliner ($20.00) in Ultra Black topped off the overall look helping to create a defined eye.
Next came the Bronzelite Collection, which gives the look of a monochromatic sparkling bronze palette with touches of metallic gold. The vibe exudes an ethereal, wearable sexy look. I went crazy over one of my favorite metals, the Glow Eye Color ($18.00) in Rose Gold, as I love the shade and have been known to collect rose gold everything (from cocktail rings to nail polish).
Then two Cream Lipsticks ($20.00) in Down to Earth and Midas (this gold lipstick is amazingly fun to layer as a highlight over the other color, or any color for that matter as an extra bit of sparkle).
Lip Lacquer ($20.00) in Sunstone is a quieter shade for me, yet many people compliment me and say I look younger when wearing less va-va-va voom lip colors. Then, this stunning, sparkling, Brilliant Bronze baked mineral bronzer and highlighter in Dawn added a warmth to my face that I wanted to put everywhere!
There was also another Ultra Last Eyeliner ($20.00) in Ultra Brown and a wonderfully soft brush called Powder Point 33 ($38.00) to round out the collection.
Please know that the Lip Lacquers and Cream Lipsticks are also considered to be anti-aging, their key ingredients being vitamins A, C and E; grape seed oil, jojoba seed oil, mango seed, shea butters and mineral pigments. The Cream Lipsticks also have hyaluronic filling spheres to deeply penetrate the skin’s surface to help plump lips and help fill in lines and wrinkles.
