It was inevitable that Essie would come out with their own nail appliques/stickers (shown in So Haute! above). Nail art is bigger than ever, and I truly wondered why Essie had not done these when Sally Hansen introduced their Salon Effects (yes, my obsession!) — I do believe Essie waited to find the right time to launch.
Once, a fellow BeautyStat writer e-mailed me a pic from her local drugstore showcasing the new Essie’s Sleek Stick Collection. I felt my adrenaline pumping faster and faster! I knew I had to get my hands nails on these, pronto!

Introducing the Essie Sleek Stick Collection, which is based on trend-setting designs from around the world.
“My obsession does not stop with color,” explains Essie Weingarten, Founder and Global Creative Director. “Colors set the scene, but a design conveys an attitude. Are you playful and effervescent or intriguing and mysterious? However you see yourself, it’s never been easier to reflect your joie de vivre in fabulous style.”
I have been saying for years that I do believe every beauty brand will have their own version of nail art and, as we can see by Sally Hansen, Essie, Minx, NCLA, Incoco, that it is starting to come to fruition. I still covet my Prabal Gurung nail strips from Sally Hansen‘s collaboration with the designer, as if they were precious gold!
Over The Moon
Remember when Cynthia Rowley teamed up with Incoco for Birchbox? She had her own magical nail strips created, too. I have even offered my marketing clients in the fashion world custom logo packaging and customized nail strips as a giveaway.

I can only see this industry getting larger and larger, and expanding in all ways possible. Nails were always my way of showing my inner creativity. That is why I have been so obsessed with nail art and everything it has brought into the fashion industry.
Steps To Apply Essie Sleek Sticks:
Step 1: Ready your canvas — clean and shape your nails.
Step 2: Select the correct size sticker strip for each nail, noting cuticle shape as well as width.
Step 3: Peel sticker away from the protective film. Try starting with the pinky nail – smaller is easier.
Step 4: Press sticker onto the nail, smoothing out any air bubbles, and file off the excess with the provided nail tool or file. Between sizes? Size up and remove excess sticker by contouring with a cuticle stick.
Step 5: You’re done! Just wait an hour before getting your hands wet so the stickers have time to adhere to your nails.
Step 6: For easy removal, apply Essie’s Apricot Cuticle Oil around the appliqué and simply peel off!
Essie‘s Tips: Create more depth and shine by applying one coat of Essie’s Good to Go Top Coat after applying Sleek Stick Stickers. Or try mixing it up! Paint nails with your favorite Essie polish and apply sleek stick stickers as an accent nail.
