I’ll admit it! The closest I’ll ever come to owning anything by Marchesa are these gorgeous Revlon by Marchesa 3D Jewel Appliqués!
I first saw them on Instagram when a bunch of well-known bloggers attended an event at The Oak Room at The Plaza Hotel, sipping champagne while having these new nail appliqués applied; a few Marchesa gowns filled the room.
This is one of three collections, and if the next two are anything like this one, both Revlon and Marchesa have a major hit on their hands… I mean, nails!
Revlon was proud to announce a major global collaboration with the fashion house Marchesa, as this partnership is the first of its kind. It will encompass multiple cosmetic categories including nail art, lip, eye and beauty tools.
Three distinct collections will be introduced in both 2013 and 2014, and the final collection will incorporate a philanthropic component with donations to a charity close to both Revlon and Marchesa’s hearts.
The first collection, Revlon by Marchesa 3D Jewel Appliqués, taps into the hottest trend in cosmetics right now — nail art! There are 8 limited-edition textured nail appliqués in all, and I honestly wanted every single one of them.
They feature a variety of intricate patterns and 3D jewels inspired by some of Marchesa’s couture gowns. The 8 designs include: Royal Burgundy, Gilded Mosaic, 24K Brocade (sampled), Silk Rosette, Crown Jewels, Jeweled Noir, Evening Garnet and Beaded Couture.
“When we first approached Revlon about a potential collaboration, Karen and I were really excited about the chance to partner with an iconic brand that believes, as we do, in making women feel beautiful while remaining true to herself.
Through Revlon’s incredible global reach, we will be able to bring a little piece of Marchesa to women around the world,” said Georgina Chapman, Marchesa Co-Founder and Designer
As part of its relationship with Marchesa, Revlon will also be the official makeup and nails partner for their New York Fashion Week shows.
Celebrated and admired by so many (I love what she has done with the brand), makeup artist and Revlon Global Artistic Director Gucci Westman will create the beauty looks for each show and has already worked backstage with Marchesa during their Fall/Winter 2013 runway show and Spring 2014 Bridal show as well.
Details surrounding the second and third Revlon by Marchesa Collections will be announced later this year, and we promise to keep you informed!
The collection is available now at $9.99 per package in both drugstores and mass retailers nationwide. I found mine in a Duane Reade near ABC Carpet in NYC, and did not see them at many other stores as of today.
Be on the lookout, as they are simply elegant and stunning!
