A limited-edition capsule collection was recently released from Chanel that was inspired by the colors of Hong Kong, which happens to be the newest city to have a Chanel boutique, says Yahoo News. The new line of metallic beauty products was inspired by one of Asia’s financial and cultural hotspots: Hong Kong.
This limited-edition collection features the Ombres Matelassées Eyeshadow Palette in Pearl River Shade ($80.00) comprised of five gold-infused shadows that were created to recall the luminous beauty of Hong Kong, reflected in the China Sea. The two darkest shades may be used as eyeliner; this palette also includes one double-tipped sponge brush, as well as one dual-sided brush/sponge applicator.
Le Vernis in Western Light ($30.00) is a deep chocolate with a touch of burnished red. Its polar opposite, Eastern Light ($30.00), is a modern opaque white.
The two paired together offer so many varieties, and I would love to do an opposite French or side-French manicure with these two contrasting shades. Nail art is all the rage, so it would be fun to explore these two colors as they are reminiscent of NYFW backstage patterns I have seen before. It’s long-wearing and chip resistant, too. Available at Chanel counters and online at Chanel.com, this capsule is absolutely modern and fun.
