Blue nails are all the rage this summer! And I’m not talking about the usual holographic blue you see on beach-bound pedicures either. Lancôme’s 2013 Aquatic Summer Color Collection released three beautiful Vernis In Love ($15.00) blue shades: 545 Aqua Bleu (swatched/sampled), 500 Simply Aqua (swatched/sampled) and 561 Plunge Pool.
The Vernis In Love bottles are very small, sleek and adorned with that iconic Lancôme flower. The brush looked to be rather big with its grooved stem, and I thought at first that it would cause some application problems.
BUT, the brush actually helped apply the nail color in smooth, streak-free strokes without any mistakes! The brush actually allows the nail polish to flow directly to the center of the nail, while the elongated base distributes uniform color in a single stroke.
500 Simply Aqua
The long-wear formula (and quick dry-time!) has a multi-polymer complex that provides a film to protect color and keeps nails perfectly polished. The extreme shine is all thanks to the white mica lamellas that reflect natural light for that high-shine finish. I didn’t even apply a topcoat in these pics!
545 Aqua Bleu
I am torn on which one I like better: 500 Simply Aqua is a GORGEOUS milky blue. At first, I was excited to have another pastel blue color in my collection, but this one is so neutral it might be your new French manicure shade!
When I saw 545 Aqua Bleu I knew this was the color that every fashionable woman seems to be wearing, but you can never find — that periwinkle bluish shade that is so on-trend right now. I can’t choose, so this weekend I’ll be picking each color. One for my manicure and the other for my pedicure!
Which shade do you prefer for your summer manicure/pedicure? Undecided?
