NYC is known for being an affordable drugstore brands that never compromises on the quality of their products. The brand has released a line of Expert Last Lip Lacquers, each only costing $3.99! According to the NYC website (www.newyorkcolor.com), these are long-wearing, liquid lip lacquers that are perfect for the girl on-the-go. They deliver rich color and coverage in a lightweight texture that will last all night long. The glossy shine can take you from day to night and give you the perfect finished look! Best of all, they are not sticky nor do they dry your lips due to key ingredients Vitamins A, C and E.
I reviewed five of these little gems. The shades that I have are: Rockaway Ruby, Madison Square Mauve, Coney Island Candy, Tribeca Mocha, and Bare Brooklyn. In the photos, I am wearing the pink shade (Coney Island Candy), and the lightest nude shade (Bare Brooklyn). I definitely find that the brighter and/or deeper colors show up less patchy on the lips. With the lighter shades, you just have to work with them a little bit more, as is the case with most lighter colored lip products.
The formula is amazing with great staying power. I can definitely get several hours of wear out of these before I need to reapply, much longer wear than a regular lip gloss. I do find that the gloss wears off after a bit but leaves such a nice satin finish to the lips. The doe foot applicators really apply the perfect amount of product. And they each smell delightful.
In the swatch photo, from left to right, the shades are: Bare Brooklyn, Coney Island Candy, Rockaway Ruby, Madison Square Mauve, and Tribeca Mocha. I love how the shades are named after New York!
So, the next time you’re at your local drugstore, be sure to check out these lip lacquers. There is quite a selection of colors available and this is a great way to step out of your comfort zone and try new shades without breaking the bank!
NYC is available at Walmart, Target, CVS Pharmacy and Duane Reade. The price may vary slightly depending upon where you purchase the lip lacquers.
