Sheena Sujan Cosmetics is a California based cosmetic company, that is cruelty free, paraben free, and made in the U.S. This brand of luxurious makeup is designed to create edgy and flirtatious looks for the sophisticated, modern woman. I had the pleasure of trying the Sheena Sujan Matte Lipstick line and I must say, I am thoroughly impressed. These proved to be everything I want in a lipstick. They are $16 each, or you can purchase the 9-piece collection for $144. If you just want to try a few before you commit to buying them all, you can purchase a 3-piece trio for $48 in light or dark shades). Trust me, you will not be disappointed!
To start, the packaging is great. It has a bit of a weight to it and feels high in quality. It reminds me of other high-end lipsticks I have in my collection, if not better. The Sheena Sujan logo is written on the side of the sleek black packaging. The color range is superb and I feel there is something for everyone in this line. The lipsticks have a light vanilla scent and I quite enjoy that.
The colors in the swatches and other photographs are as follows: Backstage, Red Bottoms, Cloud 9, Once Upon A Time, Speak Up, Twilight, Latin Lover, First Love, and Beachy Keen. In the photograph, I am wearing the shade Cloud 9. It’s a perfect light pink shade. These lipsticks are highly pigmented and I was able to achieve maximum color in these swatches, and on my lips, with minimal effort. I love that about these lipsticks. The color in the tube is the color you will get on your lips!
As you can see from the photographs, there are a couple of pinks in this line as well as some neutrals. There is a gorgeous wine shade, a unique lavender shade, a vivid purple shade, and of course, a fabulous orange and a great red for fall and winter!
The formula is absolutely out of this world. For a matte lipstick, they are not drying at all! They apply very creamy and smoothly. The staying power is also something to make mention of. These lipsticks really hug your lips and stick around for awhile, all without making your lips feel like they are dry or flaky. I actually think this might be my new favorite matte lipstick formula. I’ve tried a ton of matte lipsticks and they can be hit or miss but ALL of the lipsticks in this line have the same consistent, smooth, creamy formula.
I had not heard of the Sheena Sujan line; however, after browsing around the website, I am intrigued to try some of the lashes as well! I love the fact that the brand is cruelty free and made in the U.S.!
