I’m sure you’ve heard of Mally Beauty, right? Mally is so energetic, gorgeous, and her products are generally quite innovative! I was super excited to try some new products from her line out and even more excited to share them with you.
Let’s talk about the Mally Beauty Shimmer Shape & Go Highlight and Contour Trio ($36.00). These are three chubby sticks that you can do your highlighting, contouring, and blush with. These face pencils are simple to use and created for one stroke application. They make highlighting and contouring quick and easy.
I found all of the Shimmer Shape & Go pencils to have the same consistency, creamy but not too thick and easy to apply. Each is quite pigmented but not overly pigmented. To apply these, I used a small stippling brush and simply swept the brush over the product a few times. For the contouring pencil, I just drew a line on my cheeks and forehead of where I wanted to contour and then used the brush to blend it out.
There was absolutely no discoloring or oxidizing throughout the day. The products didn’t smear or fade. I really am enjoying this trio and think I will get plenty of use out of it! The contour shade is a nice taupey mid-toned brown. It’s not too deep nor is it too light. It’s effective for the purpose and matte. The blush shade is a mid-toned peachy pink. It has a bit of a glow to it but I wouldn’t say it’s shimmery at all. I have oily skin and some acne scarring and I didn’t notice the blush bringing out any of my skin imperfects. The highlight shade is a champagne color. I think if you’re of a true porcelain skin tone, it might be too deep for you. Other than that, it should look amazing on all skin tones. It has a little bit of a shimmery effect as you can see from the swatches. All of these products are easy to blend so they are perfect for the makeup beginner of if you haven’t tried cream highlighting, contouring, or blush!
The Mally Beauty More is More Mascara ($20.00) has a special brush designed to grip lashes and smooth mascara out to the very tips for exceptional length and definition. The formula is a rich, creamy, jet black formula. It’s not a super wet formula but it’s not a super dry formula either. As you can see from the photograph of the brush, it’s a little spikey and has a slight ball at the tip. The formula is thick, which you can see.
I usually don’t like rubber bristled brushes but this mascara is pretty amazing. It’s not clumpy but rather coats the lashes nicely because the brush separates. I didn’t notice any flaking or smudging throughout the day. It’s also not the type of mascara to leave your lashes feeling hard. It was easy to remove as well.
Overall, I give these products both a 5 out of 5. I haven’t tried many products from the Mally Beauty line but this definitely makes me want to try more!
