Dr. Jart+ partnered with Opening Ceremony for their FW14 runway show to restore the models’ natural beauty. To create a radiant and glowing look, Dr. Jart+ used the Water Fuse Water-Full Hydrogel Mask to infuse and lock in moisture, and the Ceramidin Liquid or Ceramidin Cream to reduce redness and irritation.

Opening Ceremony’s Fall/Winter ’14 Collection was filled with asymmetrical styles in rich green, blue and gray tones. Naomi Yasuda for essie created 3 negative space diagonal nail designs to complement the looks.

Get the Look:
1. Apply first base base coat to clean, filed nails.
2. Once dry, apply one coat of aruba blue, go overboard or master plan (depending on color preference) to the pinky on left hand and ring finger on right hand.
3. Next, apply preferred polish shade at an angle across each additional nail and fill in the space to make a diagonal design (each nail from the thumb to ring finger should have a different ratio of color to natural nail).
4. Finish with good to go top coat.
Richard Chai
Romy Soleimani for Beauty.com created a shimmery, velvety eye (using Kevyn Aucoin Cosmetics) reflective of the texture and the graphic prints seen in Richard Chai’s AW14 collection. “The green shadow has high-shine, which is also seen in the clothing and the liner adds a graphic element,” said Soleimani. The Kevyn Aucoin Loose Shimmer Shadow in Jade was essential in bringing the look together.

Lauren Andersen, Avon Global‘s Celebrity Makeup Artist, brings us backstage at New York Fashion Week to get a sneak peek at the Nicholas K show. Lauren shows off an edgy and dramatic look that concentrates on the lower eyelid using Avon‘s newest cosmetics. She lined the lid with SuperSHOCK gel eyeliner in black. She then added a subtle wing by pushing a flat brush into the lash line. Lauren then applies false lashes on the lower lid to add thickness and texture. Black Mega Effects mascara was then used to add volume and shine using the included Wonderbrush.
Vera Wang
Vera Wang‘s Fall/Winter 2014 Collection expressed a dark shimmery romance. Jin Soon Choi created a sophisticated and alluring nail to match the collections’ style and color scheme.
How-To Steps:
1. File and clean nails, removing all traces of polish and oil residue.
2. Use a base coat to protect nail; Jin used JINsoon Power Coat.
3. Apply two coats of JINsoon Mica.
4. Finish by applying a single coat of JINsoon Top Gloss.

The look at the Jenny Packham Autumn/Winter 2014 Runway Show was a partnership between the ultimate collaboration of chic, European sensibility and flawless red carpet glamour. Inspired by the 1970s style of Bianca Jagger, the era’s “darling of New York society” who often “juxtaposed the fluid fashions” of the ‘70s “with structured tailored suits, exotic turbans and decadent jewelry.”

In order to create the “bitten lips” look, Talia mixed Laura Mercier Crème Smooth Lip Colour in Palm Beach and Mango. Then, she applied the mixture to a Pony Tail Brush, using the brush to press the color into the middle of the lips, blending it outward.

James Kaliardos for NARS Cosmetics created the look for the Rodarte AW ‘14 runway show. “This is delicate and youthful beauty. The look is ephemeral and nostalgic creating a beautiful glow.”

Get the Look:
Inverted French manicure
1. Apply first base base coat to clean, filed nails.
2. Once dry, apply one coat of blanc to the entire nail.
3. Next, apply smokin’ hot to the center of the nail, leaving a thin, white arc around the entire base of the nail.
4. Then, brush on a layer of allure (adding this layer created the cement color).
5. Finish with matte about you top coat.
Yadim
“Each model has a look tailored to her own personality, but there is a thread of continuity throughout. It’s all about individuality.” – Yadim
FACE: Yadim mixed moisturizer with Maybelline Fit Me! Foundation to give skin a sleek texture. He then applied Fit Me! Shine-Free Foundation Stick on areas that needed extra coverage. Next, Yadim applied Dream Wonder Powder to models’ cheeks, using a shade 2-3 times darker than natural skintones to create definition. Color Tattoo 24HR Metal Cream-Gel Shadow in Barely Branded was used as a highlighter on the nose, chin, cupid’s bow and cheekbones.
EYES: Yadim applied Color Tattoo 24HR Cream-Gel Shadow in Tough as Taupe along the lower lash line to add definition. Models with a more intense eye look received a generous layer of Master Smoky Shadow-Pencil in Black Smoke, to create drama around the eyes. Yadim then curled lashes and applied several coats of Pumped Up! Mascara (launching in May 2014).
LIPS: Lips were prepped with Baby Lips Dr. Rescue, for healthy-looking moisture. Some
models wore Color Sensational Lip Color in Red Revival. Others wore a shade from the Color Sensational The Buffs Collection – for a perfect nude lip look.
Karen Walker
Karen Walker‘s Fall/Winter 2014 collection took inspiration from menswear and the working girl, with a nod to the Victorian era. Jin Soon Choi created an off-white nail to complement the blues, blacks and whites throughout the collection.
How-To Steps:
1. File and clean nails, removing all traces of polish and oil residue.
2. Apply JINsoon Power Coat base coat to prep the nails.
3. Apply two coats of JINsoon Kookie White.

To dial up the drama of Alice & Olivia’s modern enchanted princess, we put the focus on lacquered merlot lips and high-impact cat-eyes. Soft, flushed cheeks serve as a flawless backdrop, adding a touch of romance to the designers’ urban fairytale collection.
Mathieu Mirano
Inspired by Mathieu Mirano’s sharp leather styles and Christian Louboutin shoes from the
runway, Miss Pop for essie created an edgy yet feminine black and red nail look.

Libertine
Libertine’s A/W ‘14 collection was colorful, heavily embellished and showcased a variety of textures — along with the introduction of fur. The Libertine girl is glam, goth and a bit of a party girl who has been digging around in diamonds.
The Makeup Look:
Skin:
Prep skin with moisturizer and apply concealer (Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage) around the nose and on blemishes.
Cheeks:
Contour hollows of the cheek using butter LONDON Cream Bronzer in Bit Faker (available Summer ’14) with a tapered contour brush from Real Techniques.
Eyes:
Curl lashes and then apply butter LONDON WINK Mascara in Union Jack Black; using freshly sharpened Union Jack Black Eye Pencil draw out the line of the wing and fill in, then cover the lid up to the crease and blend with a soft brush whilst keeping the wing defined — clean up the wing edges with pointed Q-tips and a bit of moisturizer; press Jet Black Shadow from butter LONDON (out Fall/Winter ’14) over the pencil and blend upward toward the brow bone; saturate bottom lash line with butter LONDON Eye Pencil in Alabaster Gaze (out April ’14) then layer the Alabaster Gaze Cream Shadow to create a starlight effect
Brows:
Groom upwards using the new butter LONDON Hydrating Balm (rub a mascara wand on the tip of the balm and brush upward)
Lips:
Apply the new LIPPY Lip Balm in Teddy Boy to and press in with fingertip to make it matte.
Katie applied butter LONDON Nail Lacquer in The Black Knight to the tips of the press on nails. She then applied butter LONDON Nail Lacquer in Diamond Geezer at the base of the nail to meet up with the black at the tips. Katie used Nail Lacquer in Stardust and the new Nail Lacquer in Anorak, a black, white and silver chunky glitter overcoat (available in March 2014) over the entire nail. While the nails were still wet, Katie completed the look by applying holographic, diamond-shaped glitter to the tip of the nails.
Skingraft
To counter the moodiness of Skingraft’s intense, hooded collection for Fall ’14
Sarah Lucero juxtaposed dark berry lips with a fresh, youthful flush — adding a spray of girlish freckles to the models.
