Having combination oily and dry skin often poses a challenge when choosing skincare products. You need something oil-free yet moisturizing at the same time. Throw in the need for adequate UV protection and you have one tall order.
Over the years, I have tried a wide variety of daily moisturizers with an SPF of 15 or higher, from drugstore brands to higher end products. Though there have been some very good ones, they always seem to fall short of being the one I can’t live without. Aveeno’s Smart Essentials Daily Nourishing Moisturizer with SPF 30 may be a winner!
From the minute I applied it to my face, I could feel the difference. It is rich without being heavy, goes on smoothly and has a pleasantly fruity fragrance which brings to mind sweet apricots. The moisturizing effect is immediate and not at all oily. Moisturizers with SPF tend to feel greasy, even if they claim to be oil-free, but this one is a wonderful exception. Surprisingly, it keeps my facial oil levels in check, even though my face is extremely oily. Though nothing will keep the oil completely at bay, my face is noticeably less shiny through hours of wear. It also plays well with makeup, providing a smooth canvas and giving skin a soft glow.
This moisturizer is truly nourishing and makes an excellent addition to a daily skin care routine. Not only is it oil-free, hypoallergenic and noncomedogenic, but the UVA/UVB SPF 30, vitamins and natural ingredients make it a smart essential indeed.
