On Monday May 23rd, Burt’s Bees teamed up with Marie Claire magazine and celebrity makeup artist Tina Turnbow to introduce the Cherry (pictured above), Plum and Strawberry color additions to the Lip Shimmer Collection ($5.00 each). Tina is the super-cool artist behind beauties like Olivia Wilde, is a beauty blogger for the New York Times and an advocate of natural cosmetics.
Jill and Tina
With Burt’s Bees, Tina was on hand to create luscious lips with the 100% natural Burt’s Bees Lip Shimmers; she was also sporting a brand-new, fabulous short hair cut. The new lip shimmers formula is enhanced with antioxidant-rich fruit seed oils and moisturizing shea butter, which allows for an optimized lip-smoothing color. The peppermint oil is the first thing that I noticed when Tina applied Fig to my lips. “Do you wear natural cosmetics?” she asked. “Yes,” I said, “There are some great options out now.” It literally tingles and opened up my sinuses! “You have such a great shaped upper lip ” she said as she applied. Thanks, Tina! That made my day.
Tina suggested Fig and the new Strawberry shade to enhance the tones of my complexion, which is a warm brown. Many women are lovers of lipgloss, balms and lipsticks, so it’s important to consider 100% natural cosmetics since you usually wind up ingesting most of it. If you are considering a switch to more natural cosmetics, let the lips be the first to go. The Burt’s Bees Lip Shimmers are certified natural by the NPA and are created using 50% post-consumer recycled tubes. A great find at your drugstore or local natural grocery
stores. Look for them in 12 shades.

Will any of you be switching to more natural lip products?
