Review: 4 Best New Asian Skincare Tools/Masks From Imomoko.com: HydraGel Lip, Steam Hot Eye Mask, Facial Patting Sponge, Lather Building Soap Net

We’re used to our everyday skincare items that may seem a bit boring: cotton pads, clay face masks, nose strips, etc. But, I always wondered what is the norm when it comes to skincare tools for women in other parts of the world.

Luckily, our friends at Imomoko, the leading Asian cosmetics and skincare retailer in North America (think of Imomoko as the Sephora of the Asian beauty market, selling brands such as Shiseido, SK-II, Lunasol and plenty more!), sent us some amazing skincare accessories from lip masks to a self-heating eye mask. Read on to see what Imomoko has in store for you!

A mask just for lips! The Pure Smile Choosy Lip Patch ($1.50 each) contains vitamin E, collagen and hayluronic acid. The mask comes shaped as a pair of lips, but is big enough to also moisturize parts of your chin, upper lip… lips of all sizes.

I was really excited that the mask was made from a soft collagen-infused hydragel material, instead of plain old cotton. I even prefer the hydragel when it pertains to my eye masks as well; hydragel is way more moisturizing and really penetrates into your skin.

It comes in 5 flavors: Peach, Honey, Milk, Herb and Fruits. I tried Milk (smelled like baby powder, milky and soothing), which left my lips feeling oh-so supple and plump. It is advised to leave on for 5-30mins, allowing the nutrients to reduce fine lines. It didn’t leave a serum behind, but when I pressed my lips together I felt a thin coating of hydration.

After just one use, my lips were very plump (just see in the After shot)! There are also other beneficial ingredients like jojoba oil, aloe vera, rosemary, evening prime rose oil and honey extracts found in each one.

Foam it up! The Kokubo Lather Building Soap Net ($1.99) helps build up your cleanser’s foaming ability no matter if it is in a bar, powder or liquid form! The more foam the better the cleansing! To use: Apply a small amount of soap on the foaming net. Massaging the net with some water will create a soft, foamy lather to clean your skin.

I once saw a video on Imomoko of a woman who was of a considerably older age. Her basic skincare secret was excessively foaming up her cleanser, which helped to thoroughly cleanse her face. You can see in my Before/After photos the difference of me just using my hands to foam up the cleanser compared to what the mesh net can do.

It’s also really fun to get the foaming action going. Go crazy and get ready to experience your cleanser like you never did before.

Pat along! The Shiseido Tools Patting Sponge ($9.99) acts as your hands when you gently pat in your facial toner/essence. By doing so with the sponge, your toner/essence will better be absorbed into your skin. You can also use this tool on your body.

When dry, the tool is rather hard and stiff; use water to rinse the sponge first and make sure it’s soft. Squeeze the water until 20% is left inside the sponge and apply the toner over the sponge. It feels so relaxing and really helps your toner sink quicker into your skin with a light patting action.

Steam away tired-looking eyes! The Kao Megurhythm Steam Hot Eye Mask ($26.99/5 pieces) warms up tired eyes with steam! Once you take the eye mask out of its packaging, use it right away — it will begin to heat up to around 40 degrees, lasting for about 10-minutes. Keep eyes closed and you soon will begin to drift into relaxation mode.

It is made out of an elastic material to fit around anyone’s eyes, with ear grips to fit securely around your head. Take it with you when you are traveling or just staying in for some pampering. Each set comes with 5 pieces that are infused with natural camomile and ginger essential oils. Choose from 7 relaxing scents: Mint, Orange, Chamomile, Lavender, Unscented, Rose and Yuzu Scent.

This is such an innovative idea! I know that here in the states we have self-heating wraps for lower back pain and other sore muscle relief. I actually used this eye mask to soothe my achy neck. After a whole week of writing and running to press events, it was exactly what I needed.
