Especially during the winter months, I apply my moisturizer, wait for it to dry and then reapply — thanks to a friend’s tip in the skincare biz. This product feels as if it is hydrating enough for only one application, which saves me money and time.
Drier and delicate skin needs more intense hydration and Clinique ‘s New Moisture Surge Intense Skin Fortifying Hydrator cream-gel was designed to offer a two-in-one formula by giving both maximum hydration to the skin PLUS moisture barrier repair technology. After three days of use, my skin did feel more supple and hydrated. I would have to go under some type of medical instrument to tell you if the moisture barrier was strengthened or not. As much as I like Clinique products, I would hope that this product does what is says, as I have been a client of theirs for many years (since their 3-Step Skin Care System started in fact).

It has been clinically (no, not Clinique-lly) proven that this product not only immediately hydrates the skin but also delivers maximum results over an eight week period. Skin moisture is said to have increased by over 40% and barrier strength is increased by over 70%. I will once again have to check back in a few more weeks and ask a dermatologist to tell me what they see. What I do know is that my skin feels less dry and more hydrated. I used to get flaky patches in the strangest areas on my face, which have ceased to appear since usage.
This cream-gel is best to be used in the am or pm, after the appropriate 3 -Step Skin Care System and is intended primarily for skin types 1 and 2. In my own personal opinion, ideally the 3-Step regimen would be welcomed, yet I like this cream alone; lightweight and fast absorbing, this cream-gel makes it easy to apply, as well as leaving my skin velvety smooth and hydrated (a huge improvement compared to the original Clinique Moisture Surge (which was a little sticky and tacky feeling on skin).
