I love London… the city, the style and of course THE MAKEUP!! I was excited to get products from Rimmel. As I opened the box there were so many goodies for me to try. Any brand that has Kate Moss as a spokesmodel definitely gets my attention.
Speaking of Kate Moss, I will start with the lipsticks (pictured above). Lasting Finish Lipsticks – Kate Moss Collection ($5.19) to be exact. I love the funky packaging, with Kate’s signature on the tube. I received three shades to try: a “Kate Moss” red, a vibrant berry and a grape shade. The texture of this formula is amazing. I applied the 01 shade (a true cherry red) and it applied effortlessly. I didn’t even use a brush or lip liner — it went on smooth; I love these lipsticks. There are five shades in all. I want to go and buy the other two shades! They are infused with black diamond pigments which allow each shade to have a light-reflecting quality. Mrs. Moss designed the packaging herself from the matte black case to her signature.
Left Eye: No Mascara; Right Eye: Rimmel Mascara Applied
Volume Flash ScandalEyes Mascara ($6.95) claims to have a volume-boosting formula of triple collagen and keratin to create extreme volume, making lashes appear twelve times fuller. Well, the brush is super-sized. However, I am sad to report, I did not like this mascara. I find the bigger the brush, the smaller my lashes; It’s hard to coat each lash, and I wound up with more mascara on my lid than on my lashes.
Swatches in Royal Blue
Swatches in Black Cab
Glam Eyes HD Shadow ($4.69) are cute shadows packaged just like the British flag. The color selections are fun and colorful; they can be used wet or dry. I wore the English Rose shade and the lasting power was pretty good! The other shades I have pictured are in Black Cab and Royal Blue. My only complaint about these shadows is that some of the colors are hard to get at; very small areas to get the brush into. But overall, these were great for the price.
Last but not least the Glam’eyes Gel Liner in Black ($11.29). I love black liner and I am always on the hunt for a new formula. I liked the packaging of this as well. The brush is in the cap! Very easy application. As cool as it looked I did not like this product; I wouldn’t recommend it for a bride on her wedding day. It does run if it gets wet although good for sensitive eyelids as it’s made with glycerin. Overall, its a good liner to try, but if you are looking for something that doesn’t budge, I would recommend the Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner ($22.00). I have yet to find a liner that beats that formula.
So… are you going to experience the ‘London Look’?
