Proactiv has been on the market for quite some time, and claims to offer some of the best skincare products for those of us who have acne-prone skin.
I am one of those people who suffers from acne, although not as bad as some; there are generally 2-4 blemishes on my face at a time, and sometimes my skin will behave and I may just have one.
I was able to test out the Proactiv+ Mark Fading Pads. There is a 5-piece kit on the website that includes the Mark Fading Pads, available for $39.95. The box of Mark Fading Pads that I was sent come individually wrapped, 15 pads in a box.
I must admit that I love the fact that these are individually wrapped as opposed to just stuck in a container together — this really avoids the product from drying out, or all of the liquid really saturating the ones at the bottom of the container while the ones at the top are much more dry. Great packaging idea!
These sort of look like miniature baby wipes, which are very saturated with product. You are
supposed to swipe them over your face (avoiding the eye area) at night. The pads are meant to give your skin a clearer, brighter and much more even-looking complexion.
They are formulated with clinical-grade glycolic acid to help diminish the appearance of postacne marks, pore size, fine lines and wrinkles. Plus, the salicylic acid acne medicine helps prevent breakouts by keeping the pores clear!
If you’re curious, there is 5% glycolic acid and 2% salicylic acid in these pads. The glycolic acid is supposed to exfoliate the layers of pigmented dead skin cells, so I assume that’s how this product clears away acne scars.
I have used these for about a week and a half or so. I was unable to use them daily, because I found that the pads dried my skin out a bit. I have oily skin, but the ingredients in this product are a bit too strong for me to use on a daily basis.
I found that if I skipped a day, I my skin was able to avoid becoming overly dry; I used a moisturizer afterwards, which helped a lot.

I didn’t notice these pads doing much to any pockmarks from old acne scars on my face, but I do have to say that these did help dry up the current acne that I already had on my face. I think I would have to use these for a longer time to really comment on them causing my acne scars to fade.
I was only provided with 15 pads, so that is a maximum of two weeks and one day of usage if I used them daily. I think that since these are so strong, they can really irritate the acne on your skin if you use these immediately after washing your face. I would recommend washing your face and waiting approximately 10-20 minutes before using these.

I don’t have many fine lines or wrinkles yet (I’m 27), so I can’t comment as to whether or not these pads will help reduce the appearance of those. Also, I want to note that these do have a medicated-alcohol-witch hazel sort of scent. (Of the ingredient list on the back, witch hazel is listed.)
I find that Proactiv is very good at pairing products together that really work and enhance the properties of each other. I would recommend this product to anyone who suffers from acne and has skin that tends to lean on the oilier side.
