Billed as the “next generation of face oils” and formulated with patent pending microalgae oil, the Algenist Advanced Anti-Aging Repairing Oil ($79.00) is said to “deliver the performance of a powerful anti-aging serum with the unique experience of an oil.”
Algenist claims that it is “fast-absorbing and non-greasy, “ and that it “instantly replenishes the skin with essential moisture while working to repair the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.”
The key ingredients are microalgae oil, ceramides (moisturizers) and brown algae lipid extract (antioxidant). The key benefits are said to:
Instantly softens and smoothes skin texture
Nourishes and hydrates skin
Improves the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
Boosts radiance
I used this product twice daily for ten days as directed. Contrary to the claim, I did find it a bit greasy, especially for use during the day. When I applied it under makeup/sun protection, I saw that my skin had a noticeable shine.

Nighttime was a different story. The pale yellow oil absorbed well enough and in the morning my skin looked good, though not radically different. All told, I think this is a good product but not a revolutionary one… for me at least.
