Beauty guru, Emily Weiss has reached top standing in the beauty business, with her very successful blog Into the Gloss, and now she has wowed us yet again with an even greater contribution, a beauty brand of her own. Enter Glossier, a fun, easy skincare and beauty line that was inspired by and built on the very roots of Weiss’ experience in the beauty industry.
“We are building a modern beauty brand inspired by real life. We’re creating new essentials informed by you, by our friends, by high-low culture (fashion, art, the Internet), and that celebrate what it means to be a girl today.”
The ITG team has tried every product under the sun — so you know Glossier offers many an intrigue. The main goal is simplicity. To create a highly edited collection of modern staples that focuses on healthy, glowing skin…and the use of very little product to achieve it. The formulas are designed to live with you, not on you — enhance, not cover, requiring minimum effort.
I tried the Phase 1 Set ($80)… your beauty staples. The packaging is simple and fun, reminiscent of old-school creams on your grandmother’s nightstand. The kit came packed in lovely, reusable, bubble zip-lock bags, with cute stickers for sharing!
Soothing Face Mist ($18), is a rose water facial spray, made with roses and aloe to hydrate, soothe, and leave you feeling fresh and awake. It is refreshing as the first step in your skincare routine, priming your skin for moisturizer, or can be sprayed at any time throughout the day for a bit of hydration. I’m a sucker for rose scents, especially ones for my face, so I absolutely loved this facial spray! It smells amazing, and leaves skin hydrated and soft. I even put mine in the fridge for an extra refreshing wake-up call in the morning!
Priming Moisturizer ($25): This is truly the holy grail! Fragrance-free, creamy and smooth, it glides on with much ease, hydrating the skin, while prepping it for makeup. It contains Hyaluronic Acid, a mushroom extract, as well as vitamins A, C, and E. If you like Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré, you will fall hard for Glossier’s Priming Moisturizer. It leaves you with a glowing canvas that gives makeup something to grab onto.

Balm Dot Com ($12): Another can’t-live-without product! This hydrating, long-lasting, skin salve nourishes and repairs dry, irritated skin. Packed with antioxidants and natural emollients, the dense, waxy salve adds lasting hydration as it seals in moisture. Use it on cuticles, elbows, lips and anywhere else you need some added softness. Skin feels velvety and smooth. I know what I’ll be reaching for this winter (and dry LA summer).
Perfecting Skin Tint ($26): Choose your shade (I wear Light), and watch the product even out discoloration while leaving your face dewy and bright. The breathable, ultra thin formula auto-fits to skin. Consider it a moisturizer with a little something extra. It is perfect for that no-makeup look. Or, keep it for the beach, gym, brunch, or any other occasion. Just don’t expect full coverage, that’s not the idea. If you need some extra coverage in addition to this tint, I suggest a concealer for just the problematic areas. You want to enhance skin, not cover it. Let it show, let it glow, let it breathe!
All products are non-irritating, and paraben and cruelty free.
