Emmy has entered the building
A few weeks ago, I was invited to the Origins Smarty Plants event for the non-profit organization charity:water hosted by Emmy Rossum at the JIMMY at the James Hotel.
Amid the virgin mojitos and decorative orchids, the citrus-infused CC cream was sampled throughout the evening by attendees who eventually found themselves outside to hear more about the life-changing organization.
charity:water has traveled all over the world — from India to Africa — spending 100% of donations to fund water project costs. Every dollar donated is tracked to allow for water projects to be funded safely and change lives without deterring from the issue at hand: clean drinking water changes everything.

Who wouldn’t want a complexion like Emmy’s? With her brown doe eyes and coquettish grin, I was more than eager to snap a photo with the Shameless star. Coming off my fangirl high by taking in the beautiful view of the city from the rooftop party, I finally got my hands on the CC cream as a party favor. Now, on to the review!
The first thing you’ll notice about this CC cream is the peachy neutral color and its scent: pure orange! Shade Light/Medium (also available in Medium/Deep) color corrects and visibly perfects your skin to leave a radiant and flawless complexion that isn’t too matte or dewy.
The antioxidant-infused formula includes vitamins C and E, green tea, white tea, along with salicylic acid to minimize pores and excess oil while hydrating and smoothing fine lines.
If you look closely, you’ll see small particles of what I believe to be the time-release, encapsulated plant-coated minerals that adjust to match skintones. Water chestnut extract and algae molecules are also present as smoothing agents that are released through physical pressure.
If you’re not already impressed, do you know what else makes this CC cream so smart? Its formula neutralizes skin damaging effects of city smog and pollution. Okay, so what? Well, overtime, the skin perfector helps recycle environmental stressors into vital hydration! And the pigments don’t just sit on your skin either.
As soon as I applied, it appeared a little orange, but slowly adjusted to my skintone perfectly making it look JUST like skin… maybe better. It doesn’t provide medium or heavy coverage, but it will even out any discolorations or redness. Sometimes it’s smart to wear less.
