BeautyStat readers may know this already, but I am a BIG FAN of Bobbi Brown products. And these new products are no exception. I was fortunate enough to go to an event testing the wearability of some new products at Bobbi’s Headquarters in NYC. First, we were able to get our makeup done by Bobbi’s best talent; then we put the makeup to the test during a yoga session — with Bobbi’s personal yoga instructor, Danielle Diamond.‘This is not going to be easy’ — I thought to myself: I have oily lids to begin with, I hope these cream shadows last! As for the yoga? I hadn’t done that in 10 years. Let’s see how I managed at the end of the story. But first, lets meet Bobbi’s newest classics!
This collection consists of new shades in the long-wear shadow family including long-wear eye pencils and a new mascara: Intensifying Long-Wear Mascara. My favorite makeup products are for the eyes, as my family, my colleagues and friends know what kind of mood I’m in just by my eye makeup.
I was thrilled to try these new Long-Wear Eye Pencils ($24.00) Especially this time of year, I don’t know about you gals, but it always seems that my allergies erase half of my eyeliner! They come in six shades — Jet, Mahogany, Smoke, Hunter, Black Navy and Black Plum — all coordinating with Bobbi’s best-seller, Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner ($22.00).
For people like my mom, who want the long-wear but don’t necessarily like to apply with a brush, she wants the ease of a pencil. This new formula melts onto the skin at room temperature, giving you a minute to smudge and perfect your line. One of Bobbi’s rules: you NEVER want to see a gap between your eyeliner and lashes. These liners also have a black base to give you the fullest, most exaggerated lashes. This collection was tested in the lab to get the most accurate claims, so this liner WILL last for 12 hours without fading!
With that said, Intensifying Long-Wear Mascara ($24.00) compliments the look PERFECTLY! Not only does this mascara give lush, dense lashes, but it gives precise definition without clumping. The brush helps to fully coat each lash while curling and adding volume for up to sixteen hours. To boot, it removes with warm water. How’s that for easy? Last but not least, the Long-Wear Cream Shadows ($24.00) What can I say about these beauties that hasn’t all ready been said? It’s all in the name. Once on your lid, it doesn’t come off until you take it off (with Bobbi’s Instant Long-Wear Makeup Remover, of course!).
There are new shades for this spring in all kinds of sexy berry colors: Velvet Plum, Cool Lilac, Black Violet, Smokey Topaz (one of my go-to favorites!) and Berry Noir. I wanted to know Bobbi’s secret, ‘HOW do these products stay on for up to 12 hours?’ Well, she infused the same technology into the products as doctors did with the smoking patch. So, once the product is applied, it adheres to the skin and wears like a dream!
Well, at the end of my yoga session I was all hot, sweaty and detoxed. I couldn’t wait to go look in the mirror to see how my makeup held up. I can’t say the same for my hair, but my makeup still looked gorgeous! Bobbi, I give this collection a 10 out of 10!! They will be available this April 2012. I just worry about my makeup bag — it’s going to be lonely. You won’t be needing to touch up all day!
