When it comes to mastering the beauty basics, tanning is something I’ve always been kind of weary of for as long as I can remember. Yes, there was a time in my life when Britney Spears’ golden glow (check out that Circus album cover, yo!) was one of my top beauty goals. But I was always hesitant to make the full bronzing plunge, as icky mental images of Snooki and the orange-y popular clique of my youth always got stuck in my mind.
Urban Decay Naked Skin Body Beauty Balm BB Cream – Best To Treat & Blur Body Imperfections, Like Cellulite!
Like finding the perfect man, getting my hands on one dope bronzer always seems hard to find. Either the product streaks or delivers an atrocious color that would make even an Oompa Loompa cringe. Sure, my quest to finding THE bronzer was endless. Now, I can finally put my “orangaphobia” (yup, that’s a real fear of oranges!) to rest, as the Urban Decay Naked Skin Bronzing Beauty Balm gave me the right dose of bronze, without having to avoid every single mirror for a week.
Urban Decay Naked3 Palette – 12 Never-Before-Seen Rose Gold Eyeshadow Shades
Ever since the trend boomed in the states, BB creams have been my long-standing bestie, saving me from every beauty blunder known to man. So, naturally, I was drawn to this Urban Decay newbie, which combines everything I love about a fab BB (with a delicious caramel tint).
Although I tend to be on the warmer side of the fair skintone spectrum, acne scars, dark circles and an uneven skintone happen to be some of my biggest beauty foes. So to cover these up properly, I applied a generous amount of cream to my face, until I got that day-spent-on-the-beach color without the sand, or seagulls, of course. Then, to enhance my tan even further, I threw on some sunnies, applied some OCC Lip Tar in Grandma and rocked that selfie like a pro.
If the concept of tinted BB creams give you the heebie-jeebies though, the Naked Flushed palette still allows you to become either a bronzed babe or blushed beauty in seconds. Now every single Urban Decay “Naked” release has been a winner in my book, and this small but handy powder palette properly measures up to its predecessors, as its 3-shade trio glides effortlessly on my face.
Like a good helping of Neapolitan ice cream, three beautiful shades come together (I tried the Streak trio; just 1 of the 3 NEW! shades available) to create all sorts of beauty looks. For a romantic summer date night look, dust both the blush and highlighter shades evenly onto your cheeks to get a flushed vixen kind of vibe. Next, apply a popping lippie (I love OCC Digitalis Lip Tar), and get ready to knock ‘em dead.
And for full-on bronze, skip the blush and brush on the chocolate bronzer color for that beachside look you crave. Finish with the highlighter (glow powder is my Prozac if you must know!) and paint your pucker in a peachy-orange shade like OCC’s Zhdra. Trust me, with bronzers this boss, you’ll never worry about looking like a Jersey Shore cast member reject ever again.
