Jennifer Lopez looked hot, hot, hot for the Latin Grammys! See below for the breakdown of her makeup look, by Mary Phillips on behalf of L’Oréal Paris.
INSPIRATION: “If you saw the super sexy, sheer, deep maroon, beaded jumper that fit her like a glove, the stick straight hair parted down the center, and the glowing radiant skin with subtlety faded hues on her eyes, cheeks and lips, you might infer that we as the glam squad instantly thought about the most modern 70’s beauty possible. If you did, you’d be right. That era of aesthetics is one of my absolute and all-time favorites for various reasons. There’s something so effortlessly aspirational, yet untouchable, about that time period; I’m continually pulling references for ideas from that decade. We kept her super chic, completely stunning. I have to say, this is one of my favorite looks that we’ve done on Jennifer. We came back together for such a big night, completely inspired and reinvigorated, and I think it shows in her red carpet look tonight. We had so much fun getting ready, it’s always a blast when we’re together.”
- To start off, Mary achieved the cleanest canvas possible and extra brightness by swiping L’Oréal Paris Bright Reveal Peel Pads ($19.99) across the face, neck and décolleté.
- For a brightening sheen Mary applied L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Bright Reveal Day Moisturizer SPF 30 ($19.99) all over the face.
- Mary next mixed a few different shades of L’Oréal Paris True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation ($16.99). “I like to use varying shades
, it gives the most realistic effect for sexy, healthy 3-D skin. Skin in its natural state is never just one full shade.”
- Using L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro Contour Palette ($12.99), Mary placed an emphasis of the darker shades of this along the jawline, underneath the cheekbones, on the temple and hairline of the forehead and along the nose. She applied the highlighter part to the center of the forehead, nose, directly above the jawline, and underneath the brow bone.
- For a fresh pop of color and dimension, Mary used her ‘holy grail’ blush the L’Oréal Paris True Match Super-Blendable Blush in Spiced Plum C7-8 ($10.95) on the apples of the cheeks. “It’s just perfect. A beautiful, more natural shade, especially for a golden undertone complexion. Sheer but not too sheer, NOT sparkly. JUST right.” She dusted on Lancôme Star Bronzer in 03 Sunswept and 03 Metalique for added bronze.
- As for the eyes, Mary used various hues found in L’Oréal Paris La Palette Nude 1 and 2 ($19.99 each) to give Jennifer’s eyes a soft, neutral base for a smoky eye. Lancôme Color Design’ Sensational Effects Eye Shadow in Ruby Velvet served as the color accent overtop, softly woven into the neutral shades on the top and bottom lids.
- Using L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Liner Noir ($9.99) Mary applied a very, very thin line to the top lashes only, and concentrated on made the line a little fuller towards the ends.
- Mary gently primed and coated lashes from root to tip using L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Superstar Mascara ($10.99). “We didn’t add too much color to the eye, because we didn’t want to complete in any way with the lip, this mascara gave a perfect hint of depth.”
- On brows, Mary mixed light and medium shades for a more natural look (Try: L’Oréal Paris Brow Stylist Designer, $7.99). “You want to create dimension in your brows, just as you do with the skin, think of using a few shades in the brow area as your ‘brow contour’. It’s how you get those LUSH ‘model off duty’ brows.”
- To finish, Mary lined lips with L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Lip Liner in Toffee To Be ($8.48). To top it off, she used a combination of NEW! L’Oréal Paris Infallible Lip Paints in Nude Star and Spicy Blush ($9.99 at ulta.com), resulting in the perfect pinkish-nude.
