Review: Perricone MD Acyl-Glutathione Cream For The Treatment of Accelerated Signs of Aging

Perricone MD, the makers of the Acyl-Glutathione cream describe it as a revolutionary, new discovery that addresses the accelerated signs of aging in a single product. They state that “in order to make a major difference to the appearance of accelerated facial aging, a product needs to address all three facets of the skin–the surface, the attributes, and the hue.” And, according the manufacturers, this one does the trick. It works by replenishing Glutathione levels — a naturally occurring antioxidant that rapidly depletes with age, stress, and environmental factors, which causes tired, dull, and dehydrated-looking skin.

Review: Perricone Acyl-Glutathione Cream Addresses Accelerated Signs of Aging

Well, I’m as game as the next gal, so I gave it try. Per instructions, I used it twice daily, morning and evening. First off, I liked its absorbency, always a major plus with me. I dislike greasy products that sit on the skin, staining the pillowcase at night; I just can’t believe that they are providing any benefit if they remain on, and not in, the skin. But this one was pleasantly creamy, yet still absorbed well. I didn’t shine like I’d been coated with Vaseline and my skin felt soft and refreshed in the A.M.

As for the other claims, they are a bit harder to evaluate. I do think this was a good product: my skin felt soft, smooth and even looked a bit rosier I had used it for about three weeks. But as for really addressing the signs of aging and making me look radically younger…Not exactly. Still, I like this cream and would continue using it. I would also want to try other products from this line.

It retails for $175. And can be purchased here at QVC.com.
