These tiny patches can be applied anywhere — nasal labial lines, furrowed brows — and are said to “melt into lines and wrinkles for naturally smoother looking skin overnight.” Results are said to, “continue to build over time” and the patches are meant to target “onset smile lines” as well as crow’s feet and lip wrinkles.

Each ACUTE CARE patch holds more than one hundred microscopic liquid cones that melt into lines and wrinkle for smoother, more youthful-looking skin. Taking a page from the high tech world of electronics, ACUTE CARE was created with, “the precision of semiconductor technology utilizing a robotic computerized liquid handling platform.” Through this process, hyaluronic acid and anti-aging peptides create super-potent liquid micro cones that melt into a wrinkle effortlessly and painlessly overnight for visible results as early as the first application.
The benefits of a one-month course of treatment (applying patches three days a week) can last up to 8 additional weeks when used in conjunction with the REDEFINE Regimen. These patches sounded amazing and I was eager to try them. I was only given 3 sets, but I used them as directed on those pesky nasal labial lines. Even after a single use, I saw a difference — lines were diminished and less apparent. I think that consistent use of this product would yield even better results. The REDEFINE AMP MD™ System (60 Day Supply, $200) includes the noninvasive AMP MD Micro-Exfoliating Roller and REDEFINE Night Renewing Serum. According to the literature, the AMP MD System “utilizes micro-exfoliation roller technology for visibly advanced skin-firming benefits.” Rodan & Fields claims that, “smoother, softer skin can be experienced after just one use” and that the system is, “clinically proven to help skin appear firmer and make lines and wrinkles less noticeable for a more luminous and refined appearance.”

Along with the roller (it looks like a razor, but instead of a blade it has a cylindrical rolling device), there is a cleansing vial and purification tablets to insure that the device will remain hygienic and will not introduce any bacteria to the skin. The roller head is made of plastic and is covered with a prickly surface. I tried it on my skin as directed, rolling it over different areas to achieve maximum stimulation. (Caveats: It cannot be used on the eyes, open wounds or irritated, infected or sensitive skin).
I confess I could not use this product more than 2 or 3 times a week. I found the surface of the roller way too abrasive; it felt like I was rolling tiny metal spikes across my face. Afterwards, my skin felt unpleasantly tingly and raw, like I had windburn. I do like mildly abrasive products, like scrubs and exfoliants, but I found the roller a bit too harsh for my skin. This may be an effective treatment for some women, but not for me because I could not use it for long enough to experience any benefits.
In conjunction with the ACUTE CARE patches, I started my REDEFINE skincare routine. I broke open a capsule and used on cleansed skin at night. The product absorbed instantly and in the morning, my skin looked terrific — very fresh, soft and dewy. I have been experimenting with serums and in general, I am a fan. But this one is the best by far! I just love it and have already added it to my must-have list.
