You know I love Bobbi Brown makeup… Well, this collection is no exception. The Miami Collection is right on trend with pinky corals and shimmery cheeks. And let’s not forget about her signature summertime fragrance: Beach!
Left to Right: Nude Beach, Copper and Candlelight
First new products for the season are extensions of the amazing Long-Wear Cream Shadows ($24.00). Four new shades that are soft and pretty. I love using the Candlelight and Nude Beach as eye primers. My eyeshadow doesn’t budge. The other two new shades are Copper and Bronze Sugar. The Candlelight is a soft and shimmery, all-over color; I like to wear this as a highlight and I also like to layer other shadows on top of it (Rose Gold is a good shadow to do this with). The shimmer is in the light gold range. Nude Beach is just that; think of beige sand. It’s a very soft color, leaning on the matte side. Copper is exactly that… copper. Definitely more pigmented. This shade would be stunning on blue eyes. The good news is that these shades are going to be part of the permanent line!
Left to Right: Pink Seashell, Sunset Beach and Peach Sorbet
Next up are my favorite lipsticks… the Treatment Lip Shines SPF 15 ($23.00). These shades are limited edition, so if you like them, better buy two! These lipsticks are not just color but a treatment as well. They provide long-term moisture with natural cocoa and shea butters, jojoba, apricot kernel and avocado oils. They also have anti-aging ingredients such as peptides, vitamin C and para cress, which all aid in stimulating natural collagen production to reduce fine lines and wrinkles. This is not a brand claim, it’s one of my claims — I swear when I wear these my lips look more like Angelina Jolie‘s! I love the texture and unlike other creamy lip products, I find these wear really well throughout the day! These lipsticks come in four shades, (three I was fortunate enough to try). Peach Sorbet is great if you want to try a coral, but are intimidated by the full coverage shades; Pink Seashell is a lovely light pink. Again. Great if you are wanting to try a lighter pink but don’t want to go full blast; Sunset Beach is a nice, golden beige shade. Great for darker skin tones.
And last but not least two shimmery, fun products: Shimmer Cheek Glow ($39.00) and Shimmering Fragrance Oil ($34.00). At first glance, I admit, I thought the Shimmer Cheek Glow was going to be like Shimmer Brick ($39.00). I was wrong. The Shimmer Cheek Glow is lovely, sheer and wearable. It imparts a slight glittery finish on the skin. But don’t think disco, think flecks of shimmering sand. As you all know I’m pretty pale, but after using my St. Tropez Tanner, I applied this and it looked beautiful! Any skin tone can use it, depending if you prefer a gold or more pinky tan, which would be the Miami shade. Shimmer Cheek Glow is also limited edition. So, if you’re thinking about buying it, get it now!
And finally, Shimmering Fragrance Oil. A nice, fun edition to the Beach Fragrance category. It comes in a pump, so you never have to use too much. The shimmer is again very subtle. Just the right amount of shimmer for adults. One of Bobbi’s talents: taking fun products, but making them wearable for adults.
