I had not personally heard of this brand before so I was excited to try these products out. I love discovering new brands and products that are “hidden gems.”
Whether you are a beginning or expert, this Face Contour Kit is designed to help you highlight, define, and sculpt your features in a few easy steps. Featuring four silky, blendable powder shades that work together to create gorgeous celebrity-grade contours on any complexion or face shape. Advanced light-adjusting technology ensures the results always look natural. Use the contour shades for shading/defining, the highlight for emphasizing, and the illuminator for a sexy glow.
Contour and highlight palettes are seriously all the rage right now in the beauty world. I own quite a few myself yet I’m always on the hunt for the next best thing. I have to say that this one is probably one of the best highlight/contour palettes that I’ve tried, particularly for the price range. You get four shades in this palette, which are really the only four you need. I think Luscious Cosmetics is right on the money too when they say that these shades would work for all skin tones.
I also have to say that I love the packaging on this product. It’s a cute little tin and it’s not overly large or bulky which makes it perfect for traveling.
I think what makes this palette so perfect is that the contour shades are a little bit of a demi-matte finish, sort of like a satin finish. They aren’t super matte, so they won’t accentuate any dry spots you might have. The finish really gives them the quality of blending into the skin and looking natural. The Dark Contour shade also isn’t overly warm. It’s rather cool, which is perfect for contouring because it mimics a natural shadow. The Dark Contour shade seems like it would be dark enough for even deeper skin tones, which is something a lot of palettes often times miss.
There’s something pretty magical about the Highlighter and Illuminator. In the swatch, they don’t look super glowy, yet on the face, they really come alive. I wouldn’t classify these as glittery or sparkly. So, if you’re not into chunks of glitter in your highlighter, you would like these. However, if you’re a fan of matte highlighters, you might not like these two particular shades. The formula on all of the powders is smooth and buttery and blends in with easy. The wear time is exceptional – it didn’t require any touch-ups throughout the day and didn’t end up looking splotchy at the end of the day.
A mega matte finish meets a creamy, comfortable formula in this intensively pigmented Heartbreaker Creamy Matte Lipstick. Provides intense and opaque color payoff in one swipe while nourishing lips with a blend of illipe butter, cocoa butter, and antioxidants. Applies smoothly and evenly without drying lips for long lasting wear.
The two shades I have are Superstar (warm mid-toned nude, borderline dirty orange) and Rogue (deep berry red). Both of these shades are perfect for fall. I don’t typically like overly warm-toned nudes on myself but this one I actually liked. The formula is extremely pigmented and extremely matte. You’ll want to make sure that you moisturize your lips well the night before wearing these and exfoliate prior to application. (This is my advice to get the best application for any matte lipstick as they tend to cling on and accentuate any dry or chapped areas of your lips.)
Because the formula is matte, it has great staying power once on the lips. These lipsticks aren’t transfer proof, so you’ll want to keep one in your makeup bag for on-the-go touch-ups after eating lunch or dinner. They don’t really have a scent either. There’s something faint there – perhaps floral – but it isn’t strong at all and I really had to put the tube super close to my nose to even pick up the scent. (Don’t worry though – you don’t get a fragrance taste in your mouth if you lick your lips.)
Overall, I think all of these products are very nice. The quality is phenomenal. Again, I mention the price point because these days, items in the drugstore can cost nearly as much as these products. They truly are a bargain for the price. I truly would recommend the Face Contour Kit. I think it’s perfect for beginners (and even those of us who are more experienced at makeup application). Since I’ve picked the Face Contour Kit up, I can’t put it down. I’ve consistently reached for it on a daily basis over other products that I have in my collection.
