The best thing about this primer? It’s for all skin types. It’s oil free, water based, non-masking, paraben free, and absorbs fast!
I really enjoy this primer. It has a very light scent though I can’t quite put my finger on it. I’d say it smells fresh. The first thing that I noticed about this primer was that it does not have that silicone/dimethicone feel to it. It is very hydrating. I would say even gel-like. It does absorb into the skin super quickly which is always a plus. It gives the skin a demi-matte look while making your skin extremely soft. I love the fact that it’s water based because it’s so difficult to find a water based primer.
The shades that I have this in are 2P Light and 1G Porcelain. I love their numbering system. The “P” stands for pink undertones, the “N” stands for neutral undertones (or pink and gold), and the “G” stands for gold undertones. This makes it easy to find the right match for your skin shade. There are 15 total shades available.
What I love even more is that this product actually provides you with sheer to medium buildable coverage! So often companies try to pass their products off as “full coverage” when they are not. So I love the fact that Veil Cosmetics said this product was sheer to medium buildable coverage and that that claim is 100% true! This product is suitable for all skin types, is oil free, water based, paraben free, Super HD, and has a non-sticky formula.
I found this formula to be very hydrating. You can definitely tell that it is a water based formula. Although I have oily skin, I found it to have really nice lasting power, especially paired with the primer I mentioned above. I did get a little bit oily in my problem area (nose) but nothing a little powder touch-up can’t fix and this generally happens to me often. The foundation is definitely buildable to get medium coverage. I found that it evened out my skin tone nicely and I was able to spot conceal any problem areas with my usual go-to concealer.
Both the foundation and the primer have the same application mechanism – a twist top that reveals the pump.
I have this in two shades: 1G Porcelain and 2P Light. You can really tell the difference in the photographs of the undertones. I find the 2P is great at brightening but I love 1G equally as much. This formula is very lightweight which is great, especially for use under the eyes. I apply this product underneath my eyes, in the center of my forehead, down the bridge of my nose, and in the center of my chin. I find that it gives a nice highlighted effect to the face.
