I’m always on the lookout for a cheap cosmetic thrill. And with Saint Germain Paris, I got just what I wanted! Sophisticated cosmetics with a great price! French designer Patrick Foucart had done research for years on this line. He yearned to create a cosmetic line with great packaging and quality but without the high price tag. “The lower price point beauty products I saw on the market lacked elegance and seemed juvenile. I also had doubts about the quality of some.”
The name of the line was named after Saint-Germain-des-Prés — a region in Paris, near the river, La Seine. It is known for its charming streets and romantic feel. The line comprises of a full range of products for face, eyes, lips and nails. All of the products are free of harmful chemicals and are made for all skin types.
The first product I tried was the Lipstick ($3.25; swatched below). Functional packaging, and like the Simply Vera lipsticks, they put a color bullet at the bottom of the lipstick so you can see which color you are pulling out of your cosmetic bag. The lipstick had a very nice, smooth texture and wore throughout the day. Next up was the Eyeliner Pencil ($2.65; swatched below), which came in black and needs to be sharpened. It also had a nice texture; it didn’t skip, and was easy to apply.
Some lower price point brands are sketchy when it comes to eyeliner texture, you can’t always get close to the lashline. But with the Saint Germain Paris Eyeliner Pencil this wasn’t an issue. And finally, the Nail Polish ($3.35). Again, I can’t really say a bad thing about this line in total! The nail polish wore without chipping for an entire week, and dried quickly! (If you are impatient about waiting for your nails to dry, I highly recommend CND Air Dry Top Coat. This is what the models used backstage at fashion week.)

Overall, I give this line a 9 out of 10. I hope to try the other products in the line, but for the three I tried, this is my rank.
