Do you remember those cute little packages of days of the week panties? Each pair was a different color and the words “Monday”, “Tuesday”, etc. would be printed across the butt. Well, here’s a grown-up version with the same idea, except that there is more science than whimsy behind it.
7 Days of Wonder ($295.00) claims that it is the, “first skincare regimen that successfully targets the 27 signs and symptoms of aging skin.”
How does it do this? By using a 7-day skincare rotation system with seven different multi-benefit formulas. The idea here is that your skin won’t get used to the ingredients because when it does, the products stop being so effective. It’s the same principle as rotating your shampoo and conditioner ever so often.
According to the folks at 7 Days, consumers have experienced the “accommodation” of products over a wide range of categories — from skin creams to laxatives, sleeping pills, OTC products, liquor, and antibiotics.
Over time, increasing dosages are required to duplicate the effects of initial usage. The comment often heard is, “It worked nicely when I first started, but now…”
Essentially, with ongoing use, the body adjusts by rejecting these “intrusions” with the result that continued use of the same product (ingredients) does not deliver continuing results.
Therefore, to provide real benefits, a new delivery method had to be developed. With the revolutionary rotation therapy, 7 Days Of Wonder continues to deliver maximum benefits on a daily basis without reaching accommodation.
Ideally, these creams should be used for 12 weeks to get the full, anti-aging effect, but I only tried them for two. I used the designated cream twice a day (as directed) and then selected the next appropriate one. Here’s a run-down of the seven creams and what they are said to do:
Monday: Refining — smoothes and resurfaces
Tuesday: Reversing — softens lines and wrinkles
Wednesday: Refirming — lifts and firms
Thursday: Renourishing — silkens and hydrates
Friday: Reviving — energizes and radiates
Saturday: Retoning — lightens, evens and brightens
Sunday: Renewing — protects and repairs
I applied these creams morning and night. For day, one cream took the place of serum, moisturizer and eye cream; I just added tinted sun protection and then did my makeup as usual.
At night, these were the only products I applied — they were pleasant and creamy, though they did feel a bit tacky on my face. By morning the sticky feeling had gone away and my skin looked and felt amazing — so luminous and soft!
But I did not see any difference in terms of wrinkles, lines etc. However, I will keep using the regime to see if it actually delivers on its claims. For more information on 7 Days of Wonder go to www.7daysofwonder.com.
