Although we all get blemishes, sometimes applying heavy concealers can cause these blemishes to become even more irritated. Jouer introduces new Anti-Blemish Treatment Concealer ($28; at JouerCosmetics.com and Nordstrom stores). It aims to cover pesky blemishes, acne, and pimples, while also helping to clear skin. Available in three shades: light, medium, and tan; I found that the “light” shade worked perfectly for my skin tone. As you can see in swatches below, the tan shade is not very deep. I look forward to Jouer hopefully extending their color range for deeper skin tones.
The concealer is a maximum strength, ulta-coverage formula with 2% salicylic acid which helps clear active breakouts and prevent new ones! It also features a powerful anti-oxidant rich blend of vitamins A, C and E with green tea leaf extract to fight free radicals for a fresh face.
The formula is oil free and offers buildable coverage for a flawless finish. It’s also thick, and very creamy. You do not need to press and drag on the skin to get product off of the stick; it glides on smoothly. I simply dabbed a bit onto areas where I had blemishes, and blended it out with my finger. To get extra coverage, I reapplied where needed until I had the desired look. Then, I simply set it with a powder and I was good to go! Because of my oily skin, I love that this product is oil-free; it lasted a long time without wearing off.
In addition to being a great product, I also liked the sleek packaging. It is easy to carry with you and fits perfectly into a makeup bag or purse without taking up too much room.
The fact that this product contains salicylic acid is amazing because it works to reduce your breakouts, even though you are wearing makeup throughout the day. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who suffers from acne and frequently uses a concealer to cover up blemishes.
