First of all, I want to say how much I love Illamasqua products: the pigments, the packaging, their multi-use element. This cult line needs to be brought out of the underground and and into the mainstream.
The Human Fundamentalism line is “An explosion of your alter ego. It’s becoming who you are, and not who you’re told to be. Because beauty isn’t conformity, but the fundamental human desire to express your inner self on the outside.”
The colors in this collection are bold, and not for the wallflower, natural type. Pictured below you can see the full line of colors in this collection. I was fortunate enough to try two products: Eurydice Lipstick ($22.00) — a bright, matte fuchsia, and the Powder Eye Shadow ($20.00) in Inception — a rich, deep violet for my greenish eyes. I might have to take a trip to Sephora and get the eye shadow in Hype; I love purple and yellow together.
BMX Warrior look
As I have said in other posts, the wearability and blending quality of these products are amazing. I have always touted myself as a makeup artist who specializes in ‘pretty’ makeup. This collection really pushes you to get creative and create something completely new. An example also pictured is the BMX Warrior look creator Alex Box conceived. You have heard from other lines that makeup is not about rules… it’s about options. Well, Illamasqua knocked that concept right out of Yankee Stadium and it landed in China! The possibilities are endless to create your alter ego.
Run don’t walk to Sephora to try out these awesome shades. My favorite place to purchase is the Sephora on 5th Ave. in NYC — the gals are great and knowledgeable of all things Illamasqua!
So, tell us… Are you going to unleash your alter ego this summer?
