Maybelline will be launching some NEW products… just in time to perk up your makeup bag for summer! From new nail polish finishes and textures to an all-in-one smoky eye mechanical pencil, beginning July 2013, you’ll be able to get your hands on their latest:
FIT me! Shine-Free Stick Foundation ($8.99)
This lightweight foundation stick has a revolutionary anti-shine core with an ultra-absorbent powder — balancing skin and and absorbing excess oil.
The creamy formula transforms into a matte powder finish. Available in 12 shades, it doesn’t feel heavy on the skin. I loved how it didn’t leave a usual silicon feel that you get with most anti-shine makeup.
It blended easily and even the darkest shade seemed to work with my skintone. It is oil-free, has a gel-base formula and is portable — and ideal for the sticky and humid New York summer ahead!
Drops of Jade, Clearly Spotted, Dotty, Pretty in Polka and Blue Marks the Spots
The Polka Dot Line and The Holographics by Color Show ($3.99 each)
These nail polishes bring new meaning to nail art with some spotty and metallic finishes! The Polka Dot line itself offers 5 spot-on shades: Drops of Jade, Dotty, Clearly Spotted, Pretty in Polka and Blue Marks the Spots.
The colors brush on rather sheer with the multi-sized black and white particles floating on top of the bright pigments. I actually put on one coat of white nail polish to allow the colors to really pop — especially for Clearly Spotted, which when on top of a plain white polish makes your nails look like a marbled notebook!
Blue Blaze
Mystic Green
Lavender Lustre
The Holographics provide color-morphing, metallic pearl finishes in shades such as Blue Blaze (swatched), Alluring Rose, Mystic Green (swatched), Lavender Lustre (swatched) and Bold Gold.
These metallic shine finishes were inspired by the fashion shows from New York to Milan… and boy do they leave your nails looking fashion-forward and on-trend! I found that the formula dried rather quickly, with each coat only adding to its intense premium metallic finish!
New York Color Tattoo Pure Pigments ($6.99)
I was surprised at how PIGMENTED these Tattoo Pure Pigments were! I know PIGMENT is already in the name, but with 12 bold shades and Color Booster Technology, these loose eyeshadows pack some serious color — all while being extremely blendable and buildable.
I tested out Wild Gold, Brash Blue, Potent Purple and Forest Fatale: the two with the most shimmer were Wild Gold and Forest Fatale, which would work really well together.
Wild Gold, Forest Fatale, Brash Blue and Potent Purple
Brash Blue and Potent Purple fell more on the semi-matte side, showing just how versatile and the amount of color choices and finishes you have from a drugstore brand such as Maybelline!
New Master Smoky by EyeStudio ($7.99)
This mechanical shadow pencil is your answer to creating a smoky eye with just one product! The shadow/liner is meant to be smudged to get that I-slept-in-my-makeup-on-purpose look.
First, you draw a thick line on your top (and/or bottom) lash line. Then, you take the smudger tool that is on the other end and, well, smudge! The rich and creamy formula glides on your eyes without tugging. It lasted really long, and I needed some helpful makeup removing wipes at the end of the day.
Smoking Charcoal and Smoldering Violet
Available in 6 flattering shades for you to have a smoky eye every day of the week: Blue Smoke, Smoldering Violet (swatched), Emerald Fury, Scorching Brown, Blue Blaze and Smoking Charcoal (swatched)!
Will be available July 2013 at mass market retailers nationwide. Check out www.maybelline.com!
