The Giorgio Armani “Luce The Armani Light” Spring 2012 makeup collection is all about the way light brightens the face; I have been wearing the Giorgio Armani Supreme Lasting Wet Shine lip gloss in Rouge, so when I was given the new Spring 2012 collection to review, I was tickled pink…literally.
Once again, pastels are dominating the spring collections, but gold takes center stage here with soft pastels being updated with hints of antique gold. The two new eye palettes, with “Luce d’ Oro” pigments, have an added dimension of luminosity due to that added jolt of gold. One palette has muted shades of pink accentuated by coco and greige for that chic contrast (sampled) while the other has antique metallics that blend together beautifully (available for $ 59.00 each).
The Tourmaline Pink Blush is a subtle blush where white, pink and beige collide to leave a translucent glow that will illuminate any complexion (available for $ 55.00).
Two water-proof eye liner pencils (available for $ 27.00) are featured in this collection as well in Antique Gold and Copper and are meant to be used as highlighters as it brightens the eyes with its metallic definition. Linda Cantello, celebrity makeup artist says to, “Apply your color of choice swept over the eye lid; use one of the pencils to highlight the inner corners of the eye.” As this was the way it was applied on the Giorgio Armani runway.
The Gloss d’ Armani lip gloss has a special Color-Fil Shine technology that traps both pigment and pearlescent particles that stay radiant for over eight hours. I can tell you that Rouge has been one of my favorite finds and now that I have this Spring collection, I shall be wearing these new hues either by themselves or over what I already wear (available in four shades: Greige d’ Armani, Caffeine, Wild Rose and Blush (available for $ 28.00).
