Rimmel is a drugstore cosmetic line that I have loved for many, many years. I was excited to see that they’ve come out with a new line of brow products, called Brow This Way.
The first product I have is the Rimmel Brow This Way Brow Gel, $4.49. I have this in two shades: Medium Brown and Dark Brown. (Note: there is also a shade Blonde available.) The wand is rather short and stubby, and tapers towards the tip. Some brow gels that I’ve tried have huge brushes which make it difficult to get the product onto your brow hairs without getting it onto your skin. I didn’t have that issue with this brush. I also love the fact that the formula holds my brow hairs in place but doesn’t leave them crunchy or feeling stiff.
The second product I have is the Rimmel Brow This Way Brow Sculpting Kit. The shades that I have are Medium Brown and Dark Brown. (There is also a shade Blonde available for this kit.) The kit contains a brow wax and a brow powder. You could even use the brow powder as an eyeshadow if you wish. The brow wax isn’t sticky and it’s not too thick. It’s rather easy to apply. The brow powder is soft, smooth, and pigmented. It isn’t spotty or patchy at all.
In the photographs, I am wearing the Brow This Way Brow Sculpting Kit in Dark Brown and the Brow This Way Brow Gel in Dark Brown. I first outlined by brows with the wax, and filled them in lightly. Then, I topped that with the powder. I finished by applying a light coat of the brow gel. You can see from the swatches that the wax in the Brow Sculpting Kit is nearly identical in both the Medium Brown and Dark Brown shades. However, the powders are different. You will also see the difference in the shades of the brow gels.
I will continue to get use out of both of these shades. If you’re like me, sometimes you prefer darker, bolder brows and other times you like to go with a lighter, more natural look. You can definitely achieve whatever look you’re seeking with these brow products. The best part is that they are so affordable!
