The Shiseido Full Lash Multi Dimension Mascara, $27, promises to deliver “all-day panoramic curl, lift, volume and length even for straight, downward lashes.” The easy to use flat shaped brush exclusively bends 30 degrees and rotates 360 degrees, easily fanning and lifting lashes in one motion. The flat side of the brush lifts and curls straight downward, hard-to-reach lashes and sparse lashes at the inner and outer corners. The waterproof formula is designed to resist sweat, water and tears and is said to last eight hours. But it’s also easy to take off with the eye makeup remover. And it’s also fragrance free.
I have rather sparse lashes so I was eager to see if the exclusive, bendable brush would add volume. Using the mouth of the container to bend the brush, I adjusted it to my desired angle. I applied the mascara by pushing up my lashes with the wide flat surface, and using the side of the brush like a comb to separate my lashes.
I’m happy to report that this is a terrific innovation! The brush is super easy to use and it allows you to get at those hard-to-reach little lashes from every angle. The formula is dense, black and velvety and I was able to apply two and even three coats without any clumping. I wore the mascara through a strenuous Zumba class and when it was over, there were no smudges, no melting. Yet as promised, it came off easily with my usual remover. This is definitely one of the best beauty innovations to show up in a long while; I’m hooked!
The Sports BB Broad Spectrum SPF 50+ WetForce, $38, is described as an “innovative natural-looking, long-lasting and transfer-resistant BB tinted sunscreen with Shiseido’s Ultimate Sun Protection formula and WetForce Technology for powerful, beautiful protection.”
Both makeup and sunscreen, this new hybrid keeps skin protected even when exposed to the sun. The secret is apparently WetForce Technology* and the super-lightweight formula blends easily into skin and stays put, delivering comfortable natural coverage that camouflages uneven skin texture yet does not look pasty or chalky. The product is available in three shades that each blend easily with a variety of skin tones and it is dermatologist and ophthalmologist tested.

I always use products with a high SPF so this one seemed perfect for me. I shook the bottle well, and applied as I would foundation or moisturizer. What a great, blendable texture! I got excellent yet natural looking coverage—nothing mask-like or dry about it. And even though the SPF was 50, the product was gentle on my skin, and not at all irritating, which can be the case when the SPF is high. This really felt like an expensive foundation, not a sun protector. I wore it through an intense Spin class and looked dewy, not messy, when I was through. I love this product will love it even more come summer, when I go swimming. It’s definitely worth every penny.
*To activate WetForce Technology, expose the applied area to water or perspiration for 30 minutes. Recommended by the Skin Cancer Foundation for active use. The product is non-comedogenic and will not lead to breakouts from clogged pores.
