Following their earlier discovery of a unique gene activity fingerprint in the 10% of women who look 10 years younger than their chronological age, Olay partnered with personal genetics company 23andMe to understand the correlation at an entirely new level. Was there one? Is skin aging really about good genes and how much control can women truly have?
It turns out, when it comes to youthful-looking skin, nurture is even more important than nature. Having “good” skin is very much in our control! More specifically, studying these women and the unique gene activity fingerprint revealed two things:
Several lifestyle factors are associated with exceptionally younger-looking skin, including: sunbathing frequency, sunscreen usage and dry skin frequency, demonstrating once more the tremendous impact our behaviors have on skin aging.
