The Fourth of July got me thinking about age– the age of some of the products in my beauty closet. Some items really should be thrown away (the average lifespan of a beauty product is no more than 6 months to a year), but going through the bin and trying/ tossing items led me to reminiscing about some oldies but goodies:
Ellen Sirot’s Hand Perfection:
If you need anything in the “turn back the hands of time” department, use the products developed by this former hand model. Yes, a hand model! We love the Nail & Cuticle Treatment that comes in a sleek, twistable pen ($22). These make your nails stronger with use (over time) and can also be applied on the go. Two thumbs up!
Clarins Bright Plus Brightening Body Veil
This goody brightens the skin tone and evens out discoloration. It’s a body veil, so it’s best to use during beach season. Formulated with Alchemilla, Raspberry and a Vitamin C derivative, this is a good combination for those prone to hyper pigmentation ($37).
Elemis Pro-Collagen Wrinkle Smoothing Pen
It retails for a pretty penny (around $150), but you can transport this anti-aging collagen stimulating pen anywhere. It comes in a twistable pen with a brush applicator and zaps wrinkles (not very deep ones — for that you need a more intensive treatment or, God forbid, Botox) but the results are very impressive and quick.
These are only some of our oldies but goodies. What are yours?
