On Thursday, March 27th, I attended The New York Magazine Wedding Event. As some of you may know, I am engaged and have a wedding date: June 25, 2014. I actually brought my fiancé, Mike, to this event so he can see first hand how hard it is to plan a wedding.
2014 Wedding Salon Event – How To Plan The Perfect Wedding & Honeymoon
Since we have most of our plans narrowed down already, we focused mostly on what we needed and found some interesting new ideas. The new ideas and vendors I liked best are below:
Designs by Ahn — A NYC-based florist who had caught my eye at last year’s event. Her centerpiece displays are magnificent, and her obvious knack for making all things look beautiful would be a delight to any bride looking for a florist. Designsbyahn.com
Decoulove — A custom, handmade decoupage keepsakes and gifts company. I loved the creativity of her work. At the show, she had plates, boxes and other keepsakes, which she took invitations and embedded them into the design. I loved the fact that most invitations are tossed special day. Check out her designs at Decoulove.com
Tattly Designy — I thought the idea of temporary tattoos was a very cool concept to have at a wedding, bachelorette party or shower to keep everyone occupied. They offer all different designs of temporary tattoos. I got a neat little diamond on my finger and had a lot of fun with it for a couple of days. Tattly.com
Equinox Bridal Services @ the Spa — We both got sample massages by experienced masseuses and left relaxed and happy that we stopped by to try it. They also offer a lot more services, some of them including brow, bikini wax, conditioning facials and a 50-min Swedish massage. Check it out at: Equinox.com/classic/Spa/
All in all, NY Magazine threw a great event! They had everything from bridal gowns, photographers, venues, cakes and more. It is definitely a place to check out as you make your wedding plans. They do offer a goody bag to paying guests, filled with lots of great stuff as I received one from another wedding event to help with planning. Do plan on going next year, even if you are just thinking about getting engaged. Take it from someone who is going through the experience, it is never too early to start.
