Each summer Calvin Klein fragrances release a new version of their cult favorite CK One. It’s simply called CK One Summer 2011 and is Limited Edition.
CK One has always been a unisex fragrance and that hasn’t changed with the current summer version. It is easily wearable by both and women, but I think it veers more masculine this time out.
It’s very citrus and very vetiver with green stems and dewy notes early on. The initial note listed is tangerine and you get a nice blast of the fruit right off along with the lemon. Some very light floral is there in the freesia note along with the green stems ( coming mainly from the verbena note- citrus but herbal at the same time) but by the drydown it heads into unisex territory with the vetiver, cedar and warm musk along with a touch of sweetness hinted at by the peach note but there’s also a dryness to it . That dryness lends itself to a hot day and CK Summer is just that, a summer scent. A humid day, sweating skin under rays of the sun. Hanging out on the boardwalk with fresh squeezed lemonade in your hand. It’s cutoff jeans and flip flops. Casual Fridays and weekends.
The full note list:
Top: tangerine, water fern, melon
Mid: lemon, sea breeze accord, yellow freesia, verbena, rhubarb
Dry: cedarwood, skin musk, incense, peach skin
CK One Summer comes in a 100 ml (3.4 fl oz) Eau de toilette and is $46.00.
CK One Summer will also be giving away 5 free music downloads with every fragrance purchase. For more information visit www.calvinkleinfragrances.com
