This year’s 2014 NYC Bridal Week was all about adding an edgy twist to classic glamour. At the Angel Sanchez and Pronovias show, Hairstylists Woody and Amy Michleb created some amazing chic takes on some classic hair looks.
4 Best Prom Styles How-To: Faux Hawk Updo, Bob, Side Braid, Waved Texture
Ponytails aren’t just for the gym. As an alternative to the classic updo, chic, low ponytails with added volume on the crown were teased using Kerastase Lift Vertige on the roots for the lift and Kerastase Lacque Couture Hair Spray to hold the look. Woody and Amy Michleb wanted hair to accent Pronovias’ signature style of feminine beauty, grace and sophistication with a chic chignon that was anything but traditional. Hair was teased to create extra volume at the crown for a long-lasting style that will make any bride look taller.
1940’s Wave And Fishtail Braids
At the Galia Lahav show, Hairstylist Michelle Swiney used Olivia Garden brushes and tools to create 1940’s hair with a twist!
How To Wear Chalk Color, Balayage, Rose Gold Redhead, Icy Blonde, Cappuccino Brunette Shades
Swiney focused on creating a classic 1940’s wave but with a contemporary twist — fishtail braids were accented into the hair to add a modern feel. The Olivia Garden Divine Care and Style Brush, featuring 100% boar bristles, was used to prep and detangle hair for styling. The Olivia Garden NanoThermic Ceramic + Ion Brush was used to smooth hair while creating absolutely gorgeous waves.
Metallic Red Lips
Celebrity Makeup Artist Daniel Martin wanted the lips to be influenced by the disco soundtrack from the Amsale Spring 2015 show. The metallic red mouth and glittery eyes add some dramatic chicness to the ‘70s-inspired bridal look. To get the look, Daniel prepped lips with Lipstick Queen Invisible Liner before applying The Metals Lipstick in Red Metal.
