Last week, Ouidad Salon presented a fashion show at their flagship store on 57th Street in New York.
We saw in runway detail what Ouidad products can do for all types of curls. These were looks taken from New York Fall Fashion Week 2011 Shows from Rebecca Minkoff to Tara Subkoff. There were 40’s style waves, big curls, tight curly curls, and a slightly straight do. This was a warm and muggy night, yet not an ounce of frizz was in sight.
The models were real women who use Ouidad products and love them. Some were clients , some were friends but all had one thing in common: curls. Lots of them. Ouidad, the “Queen of Curl” herself explained to the crowd how we can create our own curly cocktail to cater to our hair needs.
Many of the women I spoke to raved about the Climate Control Heat and Humidity Gel ($22/8.5oz) as their savior.
Ouidad products actually can tame African American hair. A stylist from Ouidad also mentioned a procedure called “softening” — a non-chemical process to remove excess frizz highly recommended for Afro textured or tightly coiled hair. Suggested products included the Moisture Lock Leave In Conditioner ($22./8 oz) and the Curl Quencher Moisturizing Styling Gel ($22 8.5 oz). Now that ‘s a small price to pay for curl relief.
