BB cream is still such a cosmetic craze! Every company out there has a BB cream for your face, but, Pantene (yes, Pantene!) has jumped on the bandwagon and developed a BB cream… for your hair.
I am embarrassed to admit, I had no idea what the “BB” stood for… a quick trip to Wikipedia and I had my answer:
BB cream stands for blemish balm, blemish base, beauty balm, and in Western markets, beauty balm. It is a cosmetic item sold mainly in East and Southeast Asia, although larger beauty brands are increasingly introducing BB creams to Western markets.
Before
After
Apparently, it was introduced in Germany in the 1960’s to help protect skin after surgery. It was later introduced in South Korea and Japan in 1985. Japanese and Korean actresses pride themselves on beautiful, porcelain-like skin — and the BB cream helps achieve just that.
Pantene PRO-V Ultimate 10 BB Crème ($5.29). It comes in a 151mL (5.1 FL OZ ) pump and promises to solve ten of your most troublesome hair problems. The 10 problems include:
1) Repair for rough hair 6) Moisture/Hydrate
2) Strength against damage 7) Frizz Control
3) Silky softness 8) Heat protection
4) Brilliant shine 9) Manageability
5) Smoothing 10) Tamed Flyaways
Made in the USA, its main ingredient is water and can be used on damp or dry hair. When used on damp hair, use 1 to 2 pumps and style as usual; on dry hair, use a pump to polish styled hair. I truly like this product — it worked in my hair well to make it look more controlled and polished.
I carry it with me and use a pump’s worth of the product whenever I need a touch-up. Great job by Pantene on taking a product known for beautifying your face and making it perfect for your hair!
