I know that E=mc2 but does AA + BB = CC? Well, not exactly. To me, CC creams are lighter in weight and texture, and truly were meant as color correctors. My skin has never felt so supple before! Sometimes, I glance at my soon-to-be forty-four-year-old skin in the mirror and am pleased at the results of what taking better care of my skin looks like.
Over the past year, I have reviewed several anti-aging creams, as well as many Beauty Balms, and, as of late, everywhere I look there are CC creams (also known as Color Control or Color Correctors). Just recently, many have come across my desk (including Clinique’s Moisture Surge CC Cream); I have fallen for quite a few for different reasons. I am certain in the next month more will come into my radar, as well as DD creams, too. Right now, I am taken with three in particular…
First, I received a sample of a 12-in-1 Juice Beauty Stem Cellular Repair CC Cream ($39.00) from Birchbox, and it not only made my skin completely even looking, but, within moments of application, it smelled delicious! It is available in two shades: Natural Glow and Warm Glow. It has both vitamin C and grape-derived resveratol, and it is lightweight and creamy in texture. It has SPF 30 in it and is also certified organic.

Then, I began to see ads for the New Peter Thomas Roth CC Cream Broad Spectrum ($48.00) and wanted to give this one a try. It contains camu camu, which contains one of the highest recorded sources of vitamin C on the planet!
Light to Medium
The camu camu berry contains 30x the vitamin C of an average orange. What this CC cream does is helps conceal the look of fine lines and wrinkles, makes the skin appear more even and brighter and also contains SPF 30 sun protection.
Three shades are available, and, in my local Sephora, the Light to Medium was already sold out, so I sampled the display product and it was the right color for me. Medium to Tan and Deep are also available, and there is certainly a tint to this CC cream that gives your overall look some added warmth and radiance.
The last one that caught my eye was AMOREPACIFIC Color Control Cushion Compact with SPF 50 ($60.00). I already fell for their Future Response Age Defense Creme ($195.00) while at Sephora, and wanted to try this wonderfully eye-catching compact design. The texture reminded me of Vincent Longo‘s products back in the mid ’90s, as they were very hydrating and, if left opened, would dry up!
This product must be tightly closed after each application, as it’s Fluid Capture System Technology transforms the silky liquid into a refined product that cushions the skin and creates a smooth veil of coverage.
Nicole’s skin looks flawless using the AMOREPACIFIC CC cream
It feels delightful on the skin, leaving your face feeling supple and smooth. The addition of AMOREPACIFIC‘s Long-Lasting Complex (TM), which is another proprietary skin technology comprised of lightweight polymers and emollients, ensures that the color builds evenly once applied to the skin.
With this product, you can build up the coverage by using the sponge once verses twice. Green tea seed oil and camellia sinensis flower extracts are also part of the formulation; I also loved the light scent of the product, too.
Available in four shades: Tan Blush (shown/sampled), Almond Blush, Tan Gold and Amber Gold.
Note that AMOREPACIFIC has antioxidant-rich green tea at the heart of all their skincare, and only uses green tea plants harvested from AMOREPACIFIC-owned (and operated) green tea gardens on Jeju Island off the coast of Korea.
