The bare faced models at NYFW were a big contrast to some of the glammed up ladies we saw strut the runway this season. A few designers opted for flawless, clean skin and let the emphasis be on clothing.
For the Tanya Taylor show, Uzo, International Lead Makeup Artist for NARS wanted to create a “subtle, but modern palette comprised of luminous skin, muted eyes and rose pink lips to show off the season’s marine-inspired array of holographic prints, spinal embroidery, and graphic stripes.” To give skin a natural glow, she used NARSskin Luminous Moisture Cream, NARSskin Aqua Gel Oil-Free Moisturizer, and NARSskin Total Replenishing Eye Cream to prep the skin. The Pore Refining Primer was used before adding All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation and Radiant Creamy Concealer and Pressed Powder to set the makeup. Cheeks were dabbed with the Copacabana Illuminator and Copacabana Multiple (for lighter skin tones) and Laguna Illuminator and Souh Beach Multiple (for darker skin tones). The goal was to let the skin shine through to reveal a dewy glow topped off with a nude lip using Bangkok Pure Matte Lipstick, Madere Pure Matte Lipstick, and Biscayne Park Satin Lip Pencil.
At Creatures of the Wind there was a clean, perfected matte skin with no shine accompanied by a lot of mascara. The mascara was “pasty, a bit dry, and deliberate” to reflect the 1970’s and the 1920’s. NARS Director of Global Artistry, James Boehmer was inspired by “Americana” and actresses Anjelica Houston and Sissy Spacek. On the face he used All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation, Soft Velvet Loose Powder, and Radiant Creamy Concealer. For eyes Audaciouds Mascara and for brows he used the Oural Brow Gel.

The fresh faces at Rachel Comey were created by Lead Artist Maud Laceppe for NARS Cosmetics who stated,” The makeup this season is a dewy, almost wet look.”
