Today’s recession is just another excuse for getting dressed up, right? But there’s a method to the madness that lands you the job, for sure, and the experts at the Gatsby Salon, of (Jerseylicious) bring you these tips so you can wow the interviewer with your perfect poise and innate sense of style.
HAIR: Keep your hair simple, not frizzy or elaborate as though you’re wedding bound. A low ponytail or bun is most appropriate. Don’t be afraid to put some shine spray to make it look fresh and give you a leg up on the competition.
MAKEUP: Keep your makeup fresh and simple, and don’t put on too heavy of a mascara and foundation show because that means you want the job, but it’s definitely not the job you’re applying for!
NAILS: After the handshake, the nails are often the area that most employers look at. You want them to be clean, well filed and polished in a neutral, not too flashy color. The best bet is the French manicure…it’s safe and clean.
As always, when interviewing, keep your attire polished, clean and professional and keep your beauty habits well honed and clean because in these tough climes, you’ll need all the leg up you can get.
Good luck!
