This is such a MEGA preview from L’Oréal, I can’t believe we weren’t sworn to secrecy at the door. L’Oréal Paris is launching two NEW eye products this fall: The Infallible Blackbuster liquid liner and the highly anticipated Voluminous Butterfly Mascara!
And what better way to showcase the latest additions to the L’Oréal Paris cosmetic line than by presenting them in the beautiful and spacious loft of artist Hunt Slonem. His art studio provided the perfect backdrop to launch these two items with the whimsical touches of his butterfly art sprinkled throughout the room.
Also seen throughout the loft were visual campaigns of the new Voluminous Butterfly Mascara with model/singer/actress Vanessa Paradis languidly throwing her dress around in hypnotic fashion — with the fluidity of a butterfly in flight.
What truly sets this mascara apart is its breakthrough brush: the Butterfly Brush, with its flexible arches that are designed to lift the outer corner lashes for a flared effect. Tightly-packed bristles work to trap lashes and extend them outwards, corner to corner.
Some butterfly-inspired eye looks from Billy B.
The look is longer lashes with 6X the volume, thanks to a silky formula that won’t create dry, flaky lashes. Even L’Oréal Paris Consulting Makeup Artist Billy B. couldn’t believe the mascara’s ingenuity.

Tarte Lights, Camera, Flashes Statement Mascara
A fan of the original Voluminous Mascara for years, Billy B. is not a fan of gimmicky mascara brushes, but, he soon made an exception with the Butterfly Brush:
“The Butterfly Brush literally separates each individual lash while encapsulating them in the richest, most luxurious blackest black! This new wand extends and shapes lashes into the perfect winged-out, feathered lash look that, until now, women only dreamed of having.”
Here are a few tips from Billy B. so you can get the perfect Butterfly look:
STEP 1: Apply L’Oréal Paris The Super Slim Liner by Infallible right along the base of the lashes, from the inner corner of the eye to the outer corner. With the ultra-defined felt tip, you can get the rich black liner all into the lash bed, maximizing the look of the lashes.
STEP 2: At the outer corner, while the liner is still damp, take your finger and gently but quickly extend the liner up and out with your finger to achieve the perfect angle and extension.
STEP 3: Finish with a coat of Voluminous Butterfly Mascara in Blackest Black
Available in Black, Blackest Black and Black Brown, it will retail for $8.99 at mass food and drug retailers nationwide beginning in October 2013.
Liquid liner just got easier to apply! Inspired by the graphic eye looks seen on the runways from around the world, The Infallible Blackbuster is an easy-to-use liquid liner in the form of a marker-tipped pen (much like a Sharpie and the Ardency Inn Punker One Stroke Liquid Eyeliner).
The jumbo tips allows for bold, graphic lines or soft, precise lining. The formula dries quickly to a matte finish and stays put for 8-hours.
L’Oréal Paris Consulting Makeup Artist Billy B. says:
“Women no longer need to fear liquid eyeliner. This felt-tip marker is so easy to use and stays put so women can create a range of bold looks for whatever their day has in store.”
It really does stay put and doesn’t cause any irritation. I liked how I was able to control how heavy I wanted to make my liner; it is so mistake-proof and accessible, it is even ophthalmologist-tested and safe for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers.
Available in Black for $8.95 at mass, food, and drug retailers nationwide beginning in October 2013.
