Yes, it was seeing celebrity makeup artist Andrew Sotomayor‘s picture in the L’Occitane window on Fifth Avenue that drew me into the store. That and a line of NEW Sublime Beauty Creams, of course! I had always loved buying lotions and such from the store, yet beauty products never entered my mind until I saw the window…
I had never fully walked into their store on Fifth Avenue, so this was a real treat for me. I got a hand massage, was asked about scents that I liked, and, best of all, got to make a new friend (Karen) while sampling their New Sublime Beauty Cream ($42.00).
Available in two shades (Light and Medium), I wished there was more of a color variety, and mentioned that Dark should at least be added to their line. I am light-skinned, yet Medium was not that far off from my skintone — so I know women of color will find it hard to fit within these two shade options. With that being said, the Light suited me perfectly and applied easily and smoothly.
Before/After
Andrew Sotomayor, I was told, was onsite on the launch date of June 5th, and told those who attended to apply the cream with a wet sponge for the most natural look.
Nicole looking SUBLIME!
I liked the new BB cream right away, as it was easy-to-apply, smelled delightful (due to the extracts of organic iris and angelica) and felt very hydrating.
It has SPF Broad Spectrum 30, yet does not feel heavy on the skin. Organic angelica water is said to boost the hydration of the skin and the organic angelica essential oil helps protect skin against impurities and improves skin firmness and tone.
Organic extracts of the rhizomes (underground roots) of both white iris and blue iris are said to help shed the outer layers of the skin, visibly reduce redness and help prevent the appearance of blemishes.
Being in that store, conversing with the lovely Karen, hearing the Parisian music, watching a gent get a shave and having my hands massaged made me want to write this story and tell the world that L’Occitane has a newly launched Sublime Skin Care Line. My only hope is that a wider variety of shades are in the works!
