If you fell in love with NARS’ Velvet Matte Lipsticks, then you know the luxury of having your lips wrapped in luscious rich moisture.
Now, NARS introduces Velvet Gloss Lip Pencils. Six new shades of luminous, lightweight, vitamin-enriched color. You’ve seen your favorite stars wearing them on the red carpet, and now you too can wear the look. The spokesperson of the Velvet Gloss Lip Pencils campaign is Iris Strubegger.
To commemorate the collection, a film collaboration ensued with famed fashion director Ruth Hogben, who turned to model Heather Marks for an evocative portrayal of the Pencils. The focus is on Mark’s mouth, and the makeup look was created for the movie by Diane Kendal. Watch the film here.
These pencils take everything you love about the original velvet matte formula and swap it for a bit of shimmering gloss.
The shades sound just as provocative as the product themselves:
BAROQUE: A bold raspberry sorbet shade; the type of regal color frequently associated with its namesake artistic style.
HAPPY DAYS: A fresh pink coral infused with gold shimmer that’s as flirty and fun-loving as the TV sitcom its name is inspired by.
NEW LOVER: A strawberry pink, laced with gold that mimics the look of overly-kissed lips.
FRIVOLOUS: A flirty and frothy iridescent seashell pink, that is anything but serious.
HOPI: A honey beige hue inspired by the Native American tribe of northeastern Arizona.
CLUB MIX: A sheer grape color that’s sophisticated enough for day, but seductive enough for a night on the town.
What we adore most about this, is that you get the convenience of a pencil with the application of a lipstick. It’s like playing with giant crayons; only it’s grown up fun. Remember Clinique’s Chubby Sticks? Well, these are like those, but a lot slimmer, and have a lot more NARSissim to them.
Color your world a little brighter, and add some of these to your lipstick wardrobe.
These shades will be available 2-1-11 for $24 at Sephora and Sephora.com.
