I was so excited when this eye and lip kit from Alexis Vogel came across my desk. Who is Alexis
Vogel? You might be asking. She is the makeup guru who made women across America want to
have those sultry eyes and perfectly-pouty lips like Pamela Anderson.
She’s also Playboy Magazine’s secret weapon to making playmates look amazing! I know I would love to break away from my everyday naturals and go full-on glam! Well, with this kit in your hands, you can turn yourself into a glamazon!
The Make Me Over Kit is $349 and contains a book of Alexis‘ techniques to perfect your glam
self. It also has products for face, eyes and lips. For my review, I will be discussing the Lips and
Eyes in the Medium Kit.
In the Medium Eye Kit you get a treasure trove of products to create ultimate eyes. In my
pictures I did my eyes with all the products that I listed below. I did two different types of Alexis
Eyes using her Shadow Shaper, adjusting the look using different liners.
The Medium Eye Kit contains the following:
• Velvet Eye Shadow in Runway and Karma
• Retrocake Liner Duo – Black/Chocolate
• Two Timer Pencil – Hypnotic and Enchant
• Pudgy Pencil Foxy
• Deluxe Lash Mascara – Black
• Seamless Eye Shadow and Multi – Task Brush
Let me tell you about her eye products: The shadows blended like butter, and I was amazed at the soft texture that swept so easily on my eyes. The 2 shadows I used were Runway, which is a deep eggplant and Karma, a light raisin tone.
The Retrocake Liner Duo reminded me of old-school lining. Chanel had a similar product years ago, and I was heartbroken when they discontinued it. Thank you, Alexis, for making such a fine product. Just a little water and you can line away, making your eyes as delicate or as catty as you like.
The Two Timer Pencil is great for lining in between the lashes and on the water line. Hypnotic is a white shade to whiten the whites of your eyes, while Enchant, a carbon shade, makes you more mysterious. This pencil stays put!
The Pudgy Pencil in Foxy is a copper shade, which really enhanced my amber/green eyes. I usually don’t like thicker pencils, however, this one went on easily and looked gorgeous.

The Deluxe Lash Mascara, as you can see in my pictures, is a deep black which really defines each lash. The formula is definitely a long-wear and elongated my lashes!
Last but not least are the 2 brushes: Seamless and Multi-Task. The Seamless worked in tandem with the shadow shaper to apply shadow. Normally, I don’t like such a large brush for my small eyes, however, with the shadow shaper and Alexis‘ tips, I have since changed my view. The shadows went on easily, didn’t hold too much product and my eyes looked beautiful. The Multi-Task Brush is always one of my favorite shaped brushes, as you can use it for lining or in the crease. These are keepers for my everyday arsenal for now on!
The Lip portion for perfectly-pouty lips includes:
• Stay Put Liquid Lip Stain – Naked
• Lip Pencil – Smooch
• Pro Lipstick – Belladonna
• Lip Brush
• Luminous Gloss – Bee Stung
Like the eye products I mentioned above, these lip products are awesome! The techniques in
Alexis‘ book, Celebrity Makeup, really help you to achieve your perfect pout. The Stay Put Liquid Lip Stain in Naked is a light, coppery shade to help your lips stay on throughout the night.
Unlike other stains, it was hydrating and moist, yet it dried to a soft finish. ProLipstick in Belladonna, is a medium beige shade which is perfect for a natural makeup look. The texture of Alexis‘ lipstick is not tacky and it doesn’t have a scent, which I love.
Before
Most lipsticks are all fragrance and that drives me crazy! The lip brush is well crafted and was shaved in such a perfect way — I was able to apply my lipstick and create my lip shape. Between the lip brush and the lip liner, I was able to reshape my uneven lips!
Last but not least is the Luminous Gloss in Bee Stung. This gloss does have a scent, however, it was a refreshing fruity fragrance I couldn’t put my finger on. My clients’ biggest complaint about lipgloss is that it’s sticky. Well, my BeautyStat lovelies, rejoice! Alexis Vogel‘s Luminous
Gloss is NOT sticky and stayed put. It didn’t smear all over my lips. Just a little bit on the pout,
blot and voilà! That is all you need to create Your perfect lip!
After
I can’t really say enough great things about this line! The products are well-packaged, well-made
and well worth your hard earned dollars. I highly recommend you also get her Celebrity Makeup
book, as it breaks down each look and makes a makeup novice into a pro.
