Highly-reflective shine and intense colors are what come out of Estée Lauder’s The Metallics Pure Color Collection for Fall 2013.
“When it comes to color, there are no limits. I like to have freedom. Metallic makeup does that.” — Tom Pecheux, Creative Makeup Director, Estée Lauder.
The original just got better! Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II treats wrinkles and discolorations, promoting the importance of beauty sleep for skin’s natural cellular turnover process. Read our review —> HERE!
If you are looking to pump-up your color, then you’re in luck — metallics are SOOO in for the Fall 2013 season. Eyes are magnified with the Pure Color Instant Intense Eyeshadow Trios ($36.00).
True Vision™ Technology provides a powder eyeshadow formula with a unique silky-satin feel. Eyes will have intense vibrancy with colors that reflect light at every angle.
Arctic Zinc & Steel Lilacs
Add a POP of color with Estée Lauder Pleasures Pop Eau de Parfum Fragrance & Color Collection: Pure Color Nail Lacquer Polish, Lip Gloss. See PHOTOS —> HERE!
The trios provide three brilliant shades: one base, contour and highlight for blendable perfection and true, soft chrome color for a dramatic eye.
Arctic Zinc
Available in Smoked Chrome, Arctic Zinc, Steel Lilacs, Gilded Chocolates, Amber Alloy, Beach Metals, Sterling Plums and Camo Chrome.
Get molten lips drenched in rich, lacquered color with Pure Color High Intensity Lip Lacquer ($25.00). The unique paddle-like applicator fits the contours of your lips perfectly to provide high-shine, opulently pigmented color with precision (the color you see in the tube is the color you’ll get!).
Multifunctional polymers seal in moisture and form a color stay barrier that lasts up to 6-hours. My lips felt supple and extremely moisturized; I was able to blend different colors on top of each other easily for a personalized lip color all my own.
Top to Bottom: Liquid Petals, Ruby Glow, Vinyl Rose, Peach Glass, Hot Cherry and Chrome Kimono
I thought the Lip Lacquers would feel utterly sticky, but I was surprised at how comfortable the formula felt on my lips. I tried Peach Glass, Chrome Kimono, Hot Cherry, Ruby Glow, Liquid Petals and Vinyl Rose; not swatched: Mirrored Mauve, Fuchsia Flash, Wet Plum, Melting Sun, Electric Wine and Amber Halo.
The ‘80s are back, but in a more modern, not-so-dated way! 6 new, limited-edition colors make up Pure Color Vivid Shine Lipsticks ($26.00). Rich color wraps lips in lustrous shine with a tri-complex of metalized gold and silver pearls that envelop lips to create a chromatic finish.
Coral Halo added a pop of orange color to my lips, while the light reflected the metallic finish that was both eye-catching yet subdued; Burnished looked dark at first, but applies almost gloss-like with a tint of color with the metallic finish stealing the show.
Both colors I swatched are wearable for everyday, which goes for the other shades not swatched: Glow Fuchsia, Hot Lava, Gilded Honey and Mirrored Orchid.
Left to Right: Smoke Chrome, Chrome Violet and Steel Orchid
If anything, nails can pull off the chrome, metallic effect better than any facial feature (in my opinion). This season is all about different textures and high-shine, fiber-optic nail finishes to make anyone do a double-take. Pure Color Vivid Shine Nail Lacquer ($20.00) makes nails look like they were dipped in metallic gold!
Left to Right: Brushed Gold, Rose Gold and Midnight Metal
This new high-impact finish for nails is made out of refined pearls and aluminum platelets. The color-enriched metalized shades range from dusty rose gold to deep platinum. I tried Midnight Metal, Rose Gold, Smoke Chrome, Steel Orchid, Brushed Gold and Chrome Violet; not swatched: Metallic Green and Chocolate Foil.
Coral Halo and Hot Cherry
One coat is all it took for full, opaque color. The formula dries instantly to an almost-matte finish. I couldn’t get over how deeply rich and sooty the Steel Orchid shade was, while I appreciated just how true-to-its-name the Brushed Gold color applied. My nails are just dripping in these jewel tone-inspired, metallic shades!
This collection is available for a limited time at EstéeLauder.com and at Estée Lauder counters nationwide beginning August 2013.
