It’s always a treat to come home to a package from my friends over at NARS Cosmetics. It can actually turn any mundane day into the best day ever!
So, when I came home last week and saw the package, I nearly screamed for joy! Which of the new fabulous products could it be? To my enjoyment, it was 2 of the NEW Matte Multiples; I received Anguilla (ginger pink) and Cappadoce (golden bronze).
A little back story on NARS Multiples:
The NARS Multiple was the fruit of a photo shoot that Mr. François Nars did back in 1996. Harper’s Bazaar did a story featuring six of the top makeup artists of the time. The direction for each was to pick their favorite model, pick their look and the magazine would credit every product used.
Nars chose one single product, a lipstick, to “showcase beautiful, translucent-looking skin.” The lipstick was used on the eyes, lips and cheeks. Women all over wanted to re-create this look and since lipstick is not the best for the face and eyes, Nars set out to create a new product. And so the Multiple was born. Since conception, the Multiples had a shimmer quality to them, until now. They have added 7 NEW Matte Multiples.
As I said prior, the NARS Multiple can be used on the eyes, lips, and cheeks; they can also be used wet or dry. If you would like a higher color payoff, use the product dry. If you would like a sheer application, use a damp sponge or brush to swipe some color from the Multiple and apply to your desired area. The Multiple is not only a must-have for daily use, but it is a staple in my makeup kit. Instead of having to carry a ton of stuff, I can just pack my Multiples.
How I Used Anguilla and Cappadoce:
I wanted to use the 2 colors together to create a dimensional look. I first wet a brush and squeezed out all of the excess water. Then, I swiped some Cappadoce onto the brush. I always like to use 2 blush colors, one that is more flesh-toned and one that adds a bright pop of color. Using the Cappadoce, and starting by my ear, I followed my cheekbone.
After, I got the desired look I was after, I moved on to Anguilla. I used Anguilla dry, since I really wanted the color; I used my middle and pointer finger to apply it to the apples of my cheeks. (TIP: By using your fingers, it warms up the product allowing for a smooth application).
I loved this color combination together; I had perfectly chiseled cheekbones with a pop of love on my cheeks!
